When my father, a die hard fan of the books, heard that Tom Cruise would play him in the movies, I saw an expression on his face that I'd only seen when one of his children had truly fucked up. Disappointment, anger, exhaustion.
It's worse than it looks. Most of the items are sold by sellers. Wild berries is giving them basically no compensation for the losses. Thousands of small companies will be ruined by it. As well, Wildberries paid for the warehouses with borrowed money and can't pay it back now.
Nope. Think of every item you've bought on Amazon. Think of every box that it came in. Now imagine all of that together in super high density storage. Millions of items, hundreds of thousands of boxes. And then imagine a bomb setting it all on fire.
Just checking but... Y'all realize that the top 10% globally means anyone making around 45k USD per year or more? You definitely know or are people included in this stat. Yes, eat the rich, but this stat will be abused.

Germany went from buying oil from Russia for everything to a solar boom like no one has ever seen. It's still just beginning but it's transformative.
It's so annoying because some of this shit he's made I genuinely want to see succeed. Tesla *made* EVs a thing when no car company would go near it. SpaceX is doing incredible work in rocketry. And then *this* nazi a-hole is in charge of them!? Are you joking?!
The moment SpaceX re-flew a booster, 10 years go, that became true. Every single aerospace company knew that. Blue Origin is getting close to catching up and China has so many rocket companies that one *had* to get there eventually. But Russia doesn't have the resources to make a competitor, and the rest of the US Space Industry is too fat off government handouts.

The next level understanding: they can do their best and still have cause harm, been imperfect. You can have non-abusing parents with the best intentions who try their best, and their actions still lead you to having deep psychological issues. It's not about whose fault it is.

Money is how Russia motivates people to move basic foodstuffs to places. If their economy collapses, Russia has no money that anyone will accept because it's worthless. They've been burning their cash reserves wildly. They've got high inflation already. Their income is largely from oil, and that is being kinetically sanctioned. Their war expenses keep *growing*. Sooner or later, they start printing money, and now you're into hyperinflation and it's over.

You need to supply your soldiers with ammo and food. In Crimea and Kherson, it seems they already are barely able to do that thanks to mid-range drones. If they run out of money entirely, if their economy collapses, then all the soldiers are done. It could be a long winter for Russian soldiers.
I've always loved the example that you can use a magnet to pick up a paperclip. The gravity of the entire earth on one side, the magnetism of the little magnet on the other, and the magnet wins.
