thats basically me. i wrote some code for a company process line back in 1998 when i was a intern. the computer that ran that failed 3 years ago and basically their entire factory production fell apart. they found me and asked if i could fix it to run on a modern computer. it was a stupid easy program that any AI could crank out in 20 seconds but i still charged them enough son i could buy a new car.

My wife has been senior database manager at a local hospital for nearly a decade. "Senior" is deceptive as she's the only person in that department. They literally cant fire her because the outdated systems need replacing and the new person will essentially have to rebuild the entire medical records system on the new system. Call me crazy, but when you bring the cost of one object in comparison to the other? It sounds a lot like you are insinuating it to me. Because otherwise? The box is free, as it is waste packaging and the value of the contents does not matter, nor factor in.

It honestly would not matter if he used a piece of copper pipe to hold up the card.
1: the plastic fan shroud on the card is not going to conduct anything..
2: the heatsink itself doesn't conduct electricity either. It is not in contact with anything that would electrically charge it. If it was, it would already be shorting out the board.

I doubt it would work if you emptied the box. The way those are engineered nowadays, the pills are typically load-bearing.
