I love this movie a whole lot. Great cyberpunk aesthetic. Unfortunately, the 'twist' about the killing hasn't really aged - it's not really a twist at all anymore.
I remember hearing somewhere that some sects of Buddhism believe that the afterlife is 'you don't have a physical form anymore, so go explore the universe as you like'. I kinda dig that.
A queer friend of mine mentioned that a similar thing happens with drag artists. They become 'traitors' to the masculine in Repubs' minds.

#8 The part 2 is just amazing. I remember reading it in high school, and laughing out loud as Don Quixote is saying, "What? They wrote a book saying I was crazy? I'LL SHOW THEM!"
Wasn't expecting a Tevye cameo, but I'm glad he was there!
If that was, in fact, his defense, guess what? SCOTUS, last year, ruled that politicians can, in fact, be legally 'tipped' for their work. So he would've been found innocent.
I'm so jelly! My cat will allow my boyfriend to do nose-boops, but absolutely refuses them from me! Even when he's a super snuggle-monster, like he was tonight! Sigh.
My mom loved giraffes, and passed that love onto me. I have tiny, smol, and large-ish giraffes (Two plushies, one plastic) here in my office, and they make me happy.

The song came out (literally) right after 9/11, when America just wanted to punch someone, and it didn't matter whom. I'll shamefully admit I blasted the song once or twice in the early days, but now I just look back and gag a little.
The dogs and cats thing pisses me off specifically, as Vance was called on it being a lie later, and his response was: "Well, yes, but it got people talking." Talking. As in, spreading the lie Trump started. And that was a -good- thing in his mind. Furthermore, way back before his first term, Trump openly said lying to the press was fine because he believed the press lied all the time anyway.Truth is anathema to them. All of them.
My nephew,whom I love to death,is very autistic. When he was young in Florida, his mom got more than one "Now are you glad you took the vaccines?" comment thrown at her. My nephew is on disability. Apparently in the past year he's received three possible challenges to it that included, to his parents, "What have you been doing to help cure his disability?"My nephew and his family left the US last month. Permanently. I 100% don't blame them. (There's more to it, but that's part of the reasons.)
#4 I was in a coma for a week last year. I wish I could tell you I heard what people said while I was under, but I have absolutely no memory of that. (Also, I hallucinated wildly for about a week after I came out of the coma. It was TERRIFYING, and left me with some PTSD about hospitals.)
Been this way most of my life. I'm disabled. I literally can't have more than 2k in my possession, or the feds can stop all payments and all medical insurance. This includes my partner's wealth if we ever get married (so we can't). Think about how well you'd survive at under 2k at all times (including time to pay rent!)
The key word is 'orgasm', I suspect.

My little buddy isn't a huge fan of his carrier (nothing major, he just doesn't like being in it). But last time we were at the vet for his yearly exam, the vet asked, "How does he like his carrier?" and Langston immediately darted over to the carrier and climbed in, like he was saying, "Look! I'm very good with carriers! That makes me even more adorable, right?"
I was never very good at chess, but I had a decent defensive game. Because of this, I was a good 'punching bag' for people who were sharpening their game. I'd spend my game not trying to win, but trying to make sure they couldn't either. Got a lot of players who loved it when they could finally figure out how to beat me. Was fun for me, too.
This isn't surprising. The people who are gonna make money out of it were the ones who could get in before the IPO. The grift was designed.
I suspect there are many a billionaire (or hell, less wealthy than that) who fantasize about being him financially. The fantasy of being wealthy enough to do whatever you want with no consequences, AND using it to passive-aggressively punish any person or group of people you don't like.
I'm hoping that this was just a semantics thing. I'm Jewish, and I absolutely condem Israel for their actions (hell, I did so since I heard a Palestinian talk about her own experience in a college class 26 years ago), so I would ask, please don't say all Jews have 'become' this. (Again, it may just be a semantics thing, in which case, I apologize.)
Fall for? Not really. Embrace? Sure. The difference? In the later, it allows them talking points for what they already believe: That anything other than Trump's word is a direct threat to their way of life.
My nephew got busted at age six in school for 'hacking' his teacher's password. When asked, he said that he put first initial last name as the login and '12345' as the password. (He was bored in class and wanted to read more about Doctor Who. My SIL was torn between punishing him and yelling at the teacher who set the security. In the end, the lesson taught was 'don't get caught', which has served him pretty well so far. And he still loves Dr. Who.)
Huh. Some of the same folks who said that Roe v Wade was 'settled law' then ruled against it. Corrupt POSes, the lot of 'em.
There's a mixture of everyone wanting the other guy to pull the trigger, and an overwhelming sense that even doing that isn't going to be effective.
