A Bee Fell Asleep in my Sunflower

There's been a few bees I recognize that love my one bloomed sunflower. They're having a field day and one even slept in the flower overnight - pictured.
I can't wait to see how they react when the others bloom.

#7 Look. I was a master of the custodial arts once, for like three months. Legit it does help if you tiptoe. If you step, it leaves a noticeable shoeprint on the floor. If you tiptoe; particularly those with worn down shoes, it leaves a roundish smudge, which just looks like the light playing on a divet in the ground. You won't get told to remop etc or those, you will for shoeprints etc.

#4 I like these stories because when my granny died, she was in a coma, and the night before we died (mother's day) we all got to say goodbye. I like thinking that maybe she heard and then let go, because I was only 11 and she was the only adult in my life I could trust. It brings me some comfort thinking she heard me and wasn't already too far gone.

When my mom was in end-of-life care, the hospice nurses all (independently of each other) said that hearing is the last sense to go, and they all encouraged us to talk to her, even when she appeared unaware, especially to let her know we were all OK and taking care of each other so it was OK for her to let go. So yes, I bet your granny did hear you. 💜

#4 I was in a coma for a week last year. I wish I could tell you I heard what people said while I was under, but I have absolutely no memory of that. (Also, I hallucinated wildly for about a week after I came out of the coma. It was TERRIFYING, and left me with some PTSD about hospitals.)

I got me spine cut open at about 15 years, scoliosis surgery. I remember a few things. One, my mom was there a lot. Two, family otherwise came just as she asked them. Pshh they didn't wanna come but my mom did. And three, the morphine button. Y'all, morphine is the best drug.

I ruptured my L3/L4 disc about 8 years ago. When I got to the hospital and they finally diagnosed it I hadn't had any meaningful sleep for around 60 hours because of the pain. I remember the cold feeling when they pushed dilaudid down my IV. And then, like Cleveland Brown, I said "Awww, that's nice." And then off to lala land.
