Bikes and soup and dogs and yarn and alpine skis and books and travel (sigh).
I get why we have no sympathy for the idiots who voted against their own self interest. But losing family farms, regardless of their political leanings, hurts all of us and hastens the imposition of Big Agriculture and even worse factory farming practices on all of us and the animals and food we depend on.
We are already suffering. People on island nations are having to move. People who make their living fishing no longer have adequate catch. Children are drowned when their summer camps wash away. Unhoused people are dying from exposure.

One year, during my annual review, I was thanked by my boss for having worked so hard to get along with T (who had retired by this point). I had no idea that there was any issue about “getting along.” I just did my job and expected T to do their job. A couple of years later, my boss told me that T had hated my guts.

Thanks for saving her life. Life is a trip, isn’t it? Our new rescue is emaciated and we’re working on that.
It breaks my heart to see dogs that are physically uncomfortable because they weigh so much. It’s bad enough that we do it to ourselves and our children. It’s horrible to do it to a sweet innocent animal. I know this will get downvoted to oblivion, at best.
