If this description gets to the frontpage, I won't do anything. Maybe make an "Oh, look. That's me" comment. We'll see.
...Except this episode is the culmination of STEVIE picking on REECE because Reece knows he's not allowed to hit the cripple. So finally Reece says "I don't care anymore, I'm going to beat you up on Friday," and to make it a fair fight he spends hours with his lower half in an ice bath. Which is why he's dragging himself around on the ground here.
Serious answer though: the foods we're used to today have evolved and been altered since Otzi's time, and so bread made from his yeast will taste different even if we use the same recipe. This is a good way to find out what his food was REALLY like.
Have you MET archaeologists? This isn't the first time they've used ancient ingredients to cook, though afaik it's the first time it was found in a stomach rather than a vessel. A little blurb about a found Roman toilet seat ended by saying the archaeologists reported it to be quite comfortable. And don't get me started on the bone-licking (it's not even THAT useful, but we do it anyway) or what other shenanigans people get up to during fieldwork.
Even if you haven't formed a major bond... that is still a living creature that you're responsible for. If your response to potential danger to them is "You can always buy a new one," then don't fucking get one in the first place.
.....Hard disagree.
I hope he sent a labour bill to the city.
The street I lived on in New Orleans flooded EVERY time it rained. (And I didn't have a driveway, so if I was parked right in front of my house I'd have to run outside and move the car, because my car flooded at least twice during normal storms.) Right after I moved out, I saw a video someone took not far from me where they opened up a storm drain and it was so clogged with dirt and roots there was a whole ecosystem down there.
That and even if you don't use that specific knowledge, it's still creating neural pathways and teaching you how to reason things out. It's the mental equivalent of a football player lifting weights. Is he ever going to need to do a leg press on the field? No, but the strength he builds will help him do all sorts of other stuff.
2) She gets to the point where she needs to take a factorial. "Okay, so what's this number?" "Six." "Now say it once more, with feeling." ".....Six?" "Once more with feeling." ".........Six!" Meanwhile I'm just trying not to laugh until she finally has that moment of "OOOOH!"
1) I had a math teacher in high school who would look at our tests as we were doing them and remind us of things we already knew. Not telling us answers, just things like pointing to a mistake and asking "What's 2+2?" My friend that sat behind me was smart but ANXIOUS and always did poorly on tests because she'd be too nervous to think straight. One day he stops at her desk and helps talk her through a problem I'd already done, just asking her pointed questions to get her in the right direction.
Me too, buddy. Me too.
Then I'm glad they're in the "used to know" category.
Why would that be stupid? That sort of thing is what stories are FOR.
That's the light I turn on to remind myself that there's still food sitting out that needs to be picked up.
I'mma be honest, 1 didn't really catch me either. But it's worth it to get through it for 2 and 3, which are both fantastic, and pretty direct continuations so yeah you do need 1. (And if we're going by my tastes, I'd say don't bother with Andromeda, but I know at least a few people loved it so YMMV.)
Dude... You could just not. Or at least not publicly post what you find.
Depends what you're looking for, I guess. Personally, I enjoy kitchen nightmares occasionally because you get the catharsis of bad bosses getting called out for their bullshit, but literally the SECOND they put their egos down and ask for help, he also does a 180 in attitude and is very kind and reassuring, and he's pretty good at getting down to the actual root of the problem.
Every time I see that one I want to shake the guy and say "Yeah, this ISN'T the 1800s anymore, WE NOW HAVE CARS WITH HEATERS."
I missed the word "heart" the first time I read that and was trying to figure out what the PURPOSE of that setup was. ...Honestly even knowing it was just a heart I'm STILL trying to figure out what exactly that thought process was.
See, I think we just need companies that employ personal assistants for the everyman. I don't need a full-time assistant, but it'd be REALLY nice to be able to call one person who has all my relevant info and say "hey, find me a plumber and schedule an appointment for me." (I know that in this day and age such a company would be immediately enshittified but I can dream.)
Okay, good for you? You're still proving my point.
From what I understand that sort of thing isn't really a concern in amicable divorces, but I'm also not a judge and not divorced so what do I know.
If you've got the income to support yourself and a stay-at-home spouse, good for you, truly, but your own anecdote proves my point that financials are important: Your wife had the luxury of only working when she was bored because she had you to support her. Unlike your assumptions of me, I'm not looking for Richie Rich or basing my dating decisions on a guy's income, but I'm also not going to pretend that it wouldn't be literally lifechanging for me to just have somebody to split the bills with.
Prenup?
I'm always right, I like too many things, and my house is full of bones.
Is your wife single?
Yeah because NOBODY in this economy -- or the rest of human history -- has used financial stability as a criterion in the search for a partner.
I WISH that was my longest dry spell.
It's not the BIGGEST thing but it's definitely A Thing.....
Of course I wouldn't do such a thing. Those freezers are for.... ice cream. Yeah, ice cream. 'Cause I'm so lonely......
