I hear ya. I once approached a home, to deliver, and I saw a movement on the porch. It was a St. Bernard. I stopped and he came after me. Backing off quickly, He jumped at me, and reached the end of his tether! Holy Cujo!! True story. I was terrified.
As a retired postman, this gives me the nerves up. Ok, the pup is tethered but, it's awful to be in that situation. I was bit, 4 times.
