The comic annoys me because there is a kernel of truth in all that. Isolation IS a major tactic in far-right recruiting. Get someone to do something that is harmless but will get them hated, be the positive group they can fall back to, and boom, you recruited someone who sees you as the good guy and other people as the bad guys. (Oversimplified example, but that's the gist of it.)
