And thus he was a fucking failure at being anything but a middle of the road liberal. He was lying about his promise of change to get elected. That's the entire point. Obama fucking sucked.

He vastly overpromised and underdelivered. I don't care how bad the president before him was, his job was to execute the promises he made during his campaign, not to make excuses why he didn't do any of the things he promised.

The main thing he did accomplish (obamacare) didn't actually accomplish medical insurance reform, it just made insurance cheaper temporarily, and reinforced the worst possible avenue for obtaining medical insurance (from your employer) because of big bundle deals.

Obama did basically nothing to challenge the establishment, and utterly failed in his promise of "Change".

When obama ran on populist policy and then didn't accomplish any of it with the 111th congress, the largest majority since 1977, what exactly did you think was stopping him? Don't look at what they say they are doing, look at what they accomplish.

Imgur as a community is aggressively liberal, I'm frankly surprised that posts like this aren't getting more downvotes from people confused that the post is about the party and not the voters.

No large company is going to be openly hostile to pro-large company politicians. They literally lobby them to pass laws to make them more money. Any company that controls a monopoly share of a market is going to be republican aligned, even if the democrats also don't really care about breaking up monopolies.

That's the problem, they weren't games that were innovative because they wanted to put new tech in their game, they were new tech that had a game so that they could show off the new tech and prove that it was something you could do in a fps game. It's why alyx came out, they wanted to show off the index.

This intended audience of this post is liberals not christians. This isn't an anti christian post, this is anti-anti-liberal post.

With the number of uninspired boring sequels that get released you'd think that people would understand when a team said they didn't want to do that.

It's Reese's not Reese, pronounced Reese is. This is like complaining about how people say Porsh, instead of Porsha. You'd need a multi billion dollar marketing campaign spanning years to fix this, and

This tracks with a lot of christians I know. I asked one why he didn't wear a mask in 2020 and they said "If god wants me to die then it's my time". I said "that sounds pretty nihilistic to me."

Is the opposition in the room with us?

Turning a blind eye is ignoring something. When you actively contribute to something, you are not turning a blind eye to it, you are participating in it, you are staring directly at it.

When I say "The USA" I do not mean it's citizens I mean the government. Culture is downstream of power and influence.

The USA doesn't turn a blind eye, they are actively clawing for power so that there is never legislation. It's not a look the other way, it's a handshake between politician and pharma company.

They have designed the system where insurance can not pay for the epipen and johnny dies, they actively worked towards it, it did not happen on accident.

I don't think that the Republican Party spins messaging campaigns about their hate for Buddhists or Shintoists despite that not being Christianity, because they can't conveniently and easily draw a through line to the followers of those religions being the enemy that is the cause of your life troubles. The "cookie" political cartoon comes to mind.

Politicians are running a strategy.

Voters are a victim of propaganda and haven't thought critically about the media they are being served.

I hate Obama because he ran as a populist progressive and then failed to deliver on campaign promises. This painted the picture that even when you have a perfect candidate with essentially a mandate from god, progressive policy is impossible. He set back mainstream progressive politics 20 years.

The person I replied to said this wasn't cosplay. I was saying that person is gatekeeping.

In this case, the word cosplay encompasses the meaning of wearing a costume, as well as optionally, roleplaying as that character. I would definitely say that trick or treating is cosplay, but in that particular case there is a more specific word that is commonly used to describe that activity so you wouldn't call it cosplay even if it is.

3 weeks ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I reject that implication. It's just gatekeeping to say that this isn't cosplaying.

I think there is a better comparison vs the US but you'd have to put "authoritarian" in the democracy part.
