You don’t want or need a certified trade union. Treat your people well and be fair and there is no need for the bureaucracy that comes as a certified union. As a union organizer I once knew said, companies get the union they deserve. Of your fair and honest it’s far far easier.
Ah yeah planting sprouted is less than ideal because the plant had already spent a lot of energy reserves putting out those sprouts with zero return under your counter. There is also a generational component as well. On the farm the seed potatoes are first and second generation and the produce ones are third because after that they don’t reproduce as well. All that’s above my pay grade. I just know the seed and produce ones are different.
Well round these parts of western Canada we plant mid May. But don’t harvest till early to mid September. Perhaps you were a touch early? Nice thing is you can save a few to try again next year.
And don’t forget to add tax! It’s not included.

Face shield, long selves, pants and steel toes. Well fit gloves that are not loose. If you’re grinding anything that you don’t want to breath an N95 or better depending.
Wear appropriate PPE, use all guards. Respect the tools and you’ll be just fine.

Did a 10km last week 1:35:10 which is not bad for hauling over 300 ponds around. Always feels good to cross that finishing. Next year I’ll do it in 1:15 hauling 250 around instead.
Survivor bias. You see one from the 70s or 80s and think gee these things lasted forever delete the majority of them being long since scrapped. What I’d love to see is average lifespan with actual data, not just what our biased feelings are. Though yes relatability and right to repair needs to be legislated in.
I would have liked to have seen 2 movies. Stop right when the Hail Mary begins heading home. Then you could flesh out more of the details. Not gloss over the science. That being said I did like the movie quite a lot.

I dove on the Great Barrier Reef and there was one that hung out by the dive boat and came up for pets from the diver like a dog. 11/10 they’re all good dogs.
My nephew called them sustenders (suspenders) and they for ever shall be sustenders. If he gets married I’m wearing sustenders with my suit to the wedding and working it into a speech somehow.
Caping CEO pay at 35x lowest full time employee is just reason not to have full time employees. 35x of full time equivalent of lowest paid employee.
Whe I was in 22 I got a really unlucky combination infections, strep, mononucleosis that landed me in a coma for close to three weeks in the icu and then a couple of weeks in a step down ward. Total cost was the tv rental. If I were American I’d have never afforded training for my career and do a job I really enjoy. My life would have been far different.
Never have baked on dried out what ever again. At worst you get a little spill and it comes off easy enough.
Work union. I have a pay scale based on position and tenure. I can figure exactly how much anyone is getting paid in my department. As a bonus on the regular my union negotiates raises for me so I don’t have to.

Tell that to the 1000 Algoma steel workers in Canada who were just laid off due to lack of demand for their products in the USA. The US lost 8000 manufacturing jobs in December alone. Additionally if Germany and China both make a widget for $10 and suddenly the widget is $11 at your door for the German made one what do you think is going to happen? Demand has not changed but the German maker is doing to have to reduce the price to stay competitive with Chine or they will see sales drop.
Money left at the end of the month, not month left at the end of the money. I know if a major appliance lets out the magic smoke and is unrepairable I can get a new one with cash.

Sadly a couple years ago a highschool shop student in my town wanted to make a BBQ out of a drum. So the teacher said he needed to get a food grade drum so it would not have volatile explosive chemical residue. Apparently peppermint extract can be explosive. As soon as the student started to cut the barrel with the torch, the barrel exploded and the student was killed.
