What biases about the supernatural do agnostics hold? I'm legitimately curious because this is not my area of expertise and I thought if anything agnosticism was rooted in skepticism. Or is it that in your experience, agnostics do not pick a lane in order to feel superior to theists and atheists?

I've never seen agnosticism as intellectual dishonesty. It seems more like humility: If there is/are god/s, it is human hubris to declare it can be understood, seen/heard, or its essence put into words or text (or, even more dubious, that god favors you and will punish all others for not having your faith.) I didn't know that there was tension between atheism and agnosticism... There seems to be some overlap to me, although the former deals with belief and the latter in knowledge.

Over a century in the making. The actual left has been violently suppressed in this country for so long. It has skewed so far right that they call Biden a leftist

Sick and tired of being sick and tired... It's different, but this post reminded me of someone I know who was a (severe) alcoholic and after years of abuse one day just stopped cold turkey, went through days of agonizing withdrawal then never touched the sauce again. Sometimes something just clicks or a need for switch manifests itself in unexpected ways.

Easily the biggest embarrassment and source of shame I've ever felt being an American. And I grew up with George W... It's not surprising Trump exists, but I am dumbfounded and angered by how many people in this country continue to worship and empower a criminal sociopath who is devoid of decency and goodness in any form. Not a single redeemable quality to be found. And yeah, he's a complete fucking idiot to boot!

What's scary is that the Magas don't even feel have the capacity and/or willingness to fact check or read anything more than Facebook memes. Trump is priming his base (including propagandist media outlets like Fox) to accept his forthcoming denial of midterm election results. Nevermind that this is based on an unsubstantiated claims, spin/cherry picking, and, most of all, lies. Mr. "I need 11,000 votes, give me a break" should be in prison. Instead, he's more emboldened and corrupt than ever.

My mind immediately went the bike guy in that other hilarious cop pursuit video. Glad she got away but if her ID was in there, she's in for a bad time in the near future

Reminds me when Dropbox deleted around 70 GB of my files for not having a paid account. They had previously told customers they wouldn't do that. Good times.

It's all going to plan for the extreme right's goals in the US. This is Steve Bannon's "destroying of the administrative state". Eliminate public servants and tax funded social safety net; when chaos inevitably ensues, find ways to privately profit from the human suffering you're directly responsible for.

A lot more of this please. And we need to do the same thing for water usage.

So kind of Sammy to be concerned about our liberation. Based on everything I've learned about AI (and it keeps getting worse) I mainly want to be liberated of AI itself, along with the billionaires and tech bros who are stealing all our personal data and collective knowledge. They're not forcing AI on us to "help" us; but for self-enrichment, control, surveillance, and a whole host of other unsavory goals.

I've never been one to delight in human suffering, but let's just say I'm withholding my thoughts and prayers for old Mitch... this guy has caused more damage and suffering to this country than Al Qaeda.

Yep. Liberalism is not a static force & "the middle class" is not a permanent fixture. Like in Monopoly, if left unchecked the few will gobble up all the wealth to the detriment of everyone else. Currently, we subsidize corporations (e.g., obscene tax breaks or allowing them to pay unlivable wages). We socialize costs while wealth is privatized (See: Space X, big pharma, education, EVERYTHING!). Democratic socialism re-tilts the balance and fights against the greed that is literally killing us.

Exactly, that's the scary thing. The most watched network serves as the propaganda arm of the most authoritarian POS president we've ever had (and it will undoubtedly continue to serve fascist and corporate interests long after he is gone).

If a major subset of the population continues to consume and accept FOX poison, how can we ever hope for meaningful change? As you say, people need to wake up and understand this is just thinly veiled infowars and should be treated as such.

To state the obvious, Fox propaganda and bootlicking is out of fucking control. Lying about crowd size to appease the whiniest bitch of a president is straight out of the North Korea playbook. Not the vibe you want for the 250th birthday of a "democratic" country. Trump's narcissism and insecure micropenis energy simply can't accept that this national holiday is not about him.

Why doesn't Obama do something more tasteful like plaster his name up on a different president's living memorial?

I was honestly impressed by how much Polis betrayed his constituents this final year... kind of made me wonder if Trump/GOP had some kind of blackmail or financial leverage on him.

Yeah, our Governor options both unfortunately seem like kinda Polis-like establishment libs. But let's surround them with actual change-makers in the Senate (Julie Gonzales), as AG (David Seligman), and of course in congress with Melat Kiros (the subject of this post.) I think Amanda Gonzalez (Secretary of State candidate) is also the more progressive though I'm honestly less familiar with her background and policy positions. Please make this happen, CO!

This shit needs to be nipped in the bud right now. No one (famous or not) should have their voice, appearance, or likeness stolen without their VALID consent. Even more concerning when it involves kids. Besides the people at the top, no one wants AI to replace actors. If anyone is to be replaced w/ AI, let it be the executives Their income is obscene and not tied to productivity or labor. This is bigger than Hasbro/Pepa Pig; this battle with AI & corporate greed affects all of us in a huge way.

Wow, I didn't realize it was such a small amount of the treasure. That makes the sentencing not only extremely harsh but a straight up miscarriage of justice. The law is such a farce in this country. This kind of thing is so insulting when you consider the long list of actual serious crimes committed by the occupant of the highest office in the country (including murder, child sex trafficking, corruption, insider trading, war crimes, illegal wars). Uneven justice is injustice.

Someone shared a CBS article that says he recently finished his time after a decade in prison! I wonder if he feels it was worth it...

It's wild how much losing this loser can do. I pray that after this costly shitshow of death, destruction, and economic pain the US will FINALLY learn to say no to Isreal. Stop blindly bankrolling apartheid, genocide, and wars of aggression with our fucking tax dollars. Americans, yes even republicans, should know by now that any politician that is funded by AIPAC (i.e., Israel) must be removed from office for representing Israeli interests above the US. Wishful thinking, I know...

Was 14 million of taxpayer money wasted on a no-bid contract awarded to your buddy? No problem! Just blame others, spend more of other people's money to fix this easily avoidable issue, and throw in a billion dollar ballroom just to really stick it to the libs. Isn't it fun to live with zero consequences and unfettered access to the taxpayer's pockets? Thanks maga morons!

#14 My good friend was raised by a single mother along with his siblings (in rural Jamaica). Every Father's Day he gives her the biggest shout out and I love it. Fuck absent/negligent or abusive parents, but thank god for the good ones and all the ones who single-handedly take on the work of two people.
