what happened?
a lot of things are much better. from child mortality, life expectancy, cancer survival rates, to things like access to information, maps, safer cars, cleaner air. there's a housing crisis, but that's *because* dense housing is virtually impossible to build (zoning sucks, parking minimums suck, catch 22 of clean and safe public transport, etc.), and NIMBY groups are using exactly those laws and court precedents from the 70s. (oh not to mention the absurd denial of supply and demand)
if you do it right there's nothing instead of aftercare.
they prefer the term self-help group!

9/11 was definitely a focal point, but far from any kind of turning point. the populist oversimplification and anti-intellectualism fueled enduring mismanagement was always very strong in the US. trigger means to cause discomfort (distraction, overwhelm, annoyance, anger) -- and sensory processing issues were typically associated with autism, but the attention/distraction aspect is very relevant to ADHD.

in some sense yes, because there are many possible explanations. but circadian rhythm disorders (like Delayed Sleep Phase Syndrome) is somewhere between 2-10 times more common with ADHD. and there's even this interesting sentence in a study "In addition, evidence suggests that children with ADHD experience hypoarousal and that their hyperactive/impulsive symptoms may be compensatory behaviors for fatigue" so likely some causation, but it's not clear which is the chicken and which is the egg :)

(the market for labor is what determines worker wages/salary/perks/benefits/compensation.) the obvious problem is how to price the inputs (ie. how to split the revenue). this problem exists regardless of who owns the means of production.
