It’s been integrated and celebrated so much in my job that about 80% of our staff has no idea how to actually do their jobs and just makes buttloads of casework for the few of us who do the work. The marginal 1-2% it has increased certain stats cannot be nearly worth the damage we have done to many aspects of our workplace and morale amongst the employees.

My cat and my bank account were my higher power. I’m not religious at all but I am an alcoholic. If God gets someone else sober then fuckin eh to that. Work your own program.
They were written that way for sure but many groups now specifically refer to “a higher power of your understanding or choosing”, especially in the second Promise. Each group is different, but Promise 3 is always present.
2.For our group purpose there is but one ultimate authority — a loving God as He may express Himself in our group conscience. Our leaders are but trusted servants; they do not govern.
3. The only requirement for A.A. membership is a desire to stop drinking.
If that’s your experience and how you feel about it then you need to find another meeting. There’s plenty out there that aren’t all about god. Even if they are, I found great success once I realized that everyone is there for the same reason; to quit drinking. Whatever helps them is theirs, and whatever helps you is yours. I got clean in those rooms and never felt like I had to believe in anything g but myself.

Folding@home had a PS3 app reinstalled on all consoles for a time.
No “lucky streak” at all. Each spin is independent of the last but many of them have “pots” or something that fill up making it seem like they are going to burst. Thing is, that is just an animation to fool people into plugging more bills in.
Less chemicals etc in all the food and water maybe? I dunno but that seems to make sense. I’m not a scientist though. Or a doctor.
