Cancer survivor. House full of animal rescues and fosters. I will upvote any cat post (and most dogs ... esp Danes)and I will answer any question asked in good faith honestly.

And again, to be crystal clear, I have ZERO issue with NY states laws regarding firearm or ammo purchases. Just, again, mentioning experiences. But that’s the rub, right? Unless someone says “I fucking hate X” or “I fucking support X” blindly with zero context or discussion - too many these days think that person is the enemy and “must be wrong”.

I’m pretty sure I was clear that I can only speak for my experiences and my state - and, although I don’t live in NY, and never purchased a firearm there … it’s funny you bring it up. NY has some wildly difficult steps to purchase not only a firearm, but also ammunition. My cousin lives outside Albany. So we discuss it often. Coincidentally enough, I should add I did go to a firing range once with him. As an out of state customer, I also couldn’t even rent most of their firearms.

I am a gun owner. And, as I’ve also always stated, the system is broken. There are loopholes that must be fixed. I’ve seen first hand people getting their hands on firearms that clearly shouldn’t be able to due to loopholes. So I will continue to vote for politicians looking to fix the gun violence issues in this country.

I guess it’s easier for me to say what’s not in place … the last point, referencing waiting for the next election.
And, let me be crystal clear, I am NOT suggesting or implying this is true for all states. And, I realize that my personal experiences may not be representative of all experiences.
Just stating, as I always have, we need better/cleaner gun regulations. Not being clear with the argument only makes it harder to achieve that. IMO.

Congrats. I know some people who have done that procedure … it’s not easy, by a long shot.

#5 - my wife and I were stopped by a man walking into the market the other day. We were holding hands. He said “don’t mean to interrupt, but this is exactly what the world needs MORE of. People holding hands.” Will forever be logged in my memories.

I realize it’s only anecdotal (if I’m even using that in the right context) .. but I 100% believe my cat never leaving my side while I was going through my cancer treatments is a main reason I’m alive today. Cats heal.

I live in a (relatively) red state. With some of the most lax gun laws in the nation … and most (not all) of this is what I already need to do to purchase a firearm. Not sure this meme really hits the mark.
Would the tRumpers cry? Sure. But probably because they’re too stupid to realize most of it already is in play.

You could have an article per day of someone who voted for trump and got EXACTLY what they voted for … I know countless people who have said “oh shit” to me because it’s come back to bite them in the ass. Just met a trump voting woman whose daughter in law was deported (illegally) by ICE. She’s heartbroken and livid … I just shrugged. “You plant corn, you get corn”. Or “you made that bed, now sleep in it”.

In case you were sincerely asking - yes, they do. (Used to work in Fed level law enforcement). I’ve seen countless times “just call me directly in the future”.
But, that said, if the crime crosses state lines (or, in the case of Epstein) yes - a “regular civilian” should also reach out to the FBI to report a crime. Your local PD will have little to no effective course of action. Simply outside their scope.

Looks like 102k signatures at this point … as an American, I apologize. The guy is a bum.

My Great Dane is the same … biggest f-ing baby walking. He’s scared of literally anything. But walk up to the house unannounced? He sounds like he’s going to rip the door down and eat you whole.

Not sure about you … but I sure do wake up every morning with a smile knowing that one day I’ll read his obituary.

Seems like a good time to chime in with the fact I get up every morning with a positive attitude because I know, in my lifetime, one day I’ll wake up to the news this dooshnozzle will be the one reported deceased.

I do love my closest Market Basket. Some of the best premade food around. And the store is always super clean, tidy and neat.

What are you trying to say about us in rural New Hampshire??? 😉

Jake WHOM?
Seriously have zero idea who this … person(?) is.

Most of our stores in my area (rural NH) have already shut down many self checkout lanes and brought back cashiers. The only self checkouts remaining are for folks in a hurry/want the convenience of self checkout. Should have been this way from the start.

Thanks 👍🏻 coincidentally, my official remission 5 year scans are coming up next month. Still have some lingering crap from the surgeries and chemo/radiation - but otherwise happy and healthy.

I wake up every morning with a smile on my face knowing I will one day watch his funeral on tv … and trumps.

Sending hugs OP … if it’s the big C, it’ll be ok. You pivot and you fight. Don’t give up. Even if you feel like you are getting good care (sounds like you’re nervous you won’t be) - get a second opinion. In my experience, most doctors working with cancer kind of expect it.
My “big” scans are coming up next month … assuming clear, that’ll be my 5 year mark so officially in remission. You can get here too. The road sucks ass. But you can do it. Stay strong. The world is better with you in it ❤️

Dude - had you said you were a Marine, my mind would have been blown. Long story short, a friend brought who could very well be your twin brother to an ice fishing derby in Maine some years back. Again, could have been your twin brother. Because I swear he said he was a Marine.
Anyhow … that’s my shiny quarter comment for the day …

Weird - I know where #44 is … the Squam Lake science center in NH. was there last summer. I’d have to look; but I think I have a picture of that lever too.

Took me like 5 minutes … but finally …

Who said this is an unpopular opinion?
But on an aside; just my 2 cents; I have no issue with either. What I DO have an issue with is the endless spamming from “content creators”. If you want to OF, good on you (and I may even support you with a membership). But I don’t need you posting in my fishing group a pic of yourself in a bikini asking what’s the best bait for bass - tagging your OF.

I am also 54 - and saw some folks flying kites on Friday. After taking some photos, I said “geez, I should be flying a kite more often. Looks fun” 🤷🏻‍♂️
