Hey look, someone who actually understands patents and isn’t just having a knee-jerk reaction! Indeed, the vast majority of patents are never turned into something.

Some free services use you as a node. So if someone is doing illegal shit and using a VPN to make it seem like they’re in your country, it could go through your network and make it look like you. I have first hand experience of this from a few years ago.
I’ve tried using VPNs to save on flight fares before. Didn’t make a penny difference.
