I get the gyroscope aspect of it, used to play with them all the time. It just seems that angular momentum behaves differently than “normal” momentum. The rotational velocity seems to perform differently than lateral or vertical velocity. Gyroscope spinning vs. bullet or rocket. Just seems weird to me.

Can someone explain to me why gravity doesn’t seem to have the same effect on it once it’s spinning? I get that the weight and mass haven’t changed, but it is a very curious situation.
