In Sweden the police need to apply for a special permit restricting them to a known crime area. Cams are becoming more deployed in such areas but not generally. Shop owners with permits need to make sure the camera is not generally facing the public, only what they have a permit foor (like an entrance)There's also permits for non-recording cams (watched by operator), those are typically in public transport.I think THIS is more to the norm in Europe. London is a special case.
