That's not at all how that works. Mental health medications are like insulin for diabetics: they provide something that your body is meant to produce on it's own, but cannot. It's not some short term solution, it's necessary for your body to function at all. The problem is doctors who lazily attempt to treat every problem with insulin, and make people who aren't diabetic even more sick in the process.
It's genuinely both though. There are both people who benefit from psychiatric medication and a system that benefits from pushing said medication on people who don't need it. There are exceedingly few situations in life that a black and white, and trying to force an issue into being black and white is it's own delusion.
