It is far more important to learn the hard lessons of history than of its triumphs. Otherwise, we are doomed to find ourselves lackluster, without knowing the hardships that had been overcome to give us what we take for granted. To most, the lives lost building their future we live in is just a number, if we know of them at all. Humanity's path is paved with their ashes, allowing the reasons for their sacrifices to be forgotten will require far more blood to learn ourselves, because the one thing we don't forget is more effective ways to destroy each other. It won't be like before with just bullets and bombs, though. We're in the information age, it's far easier to deceive and divide us than ever, we trust what we're shown on a screen, and worst of all we are each more fungible. To destroy us simply means to convince enough of us our future is not worth fighting for.

Honestly smoking meth was more effective. I wish I was joking.

A lot of dehydration, too. Usually strong people don't have that kind of definition, it's just for the camera.

The universe doesn't care that we tried to quantize it, which is why our numbers don't always accurately describe it. Math is just an approximation. Then throw in shit like the observer effect and we have a very hard time finding out what things actually are.

The US often undersells its military capabilities until they are proven on the battlefield to be more capable. Why advertise how good your equipment is to your adversaries? So they can steal and copy it during peacetime? Best for them to find out during a conflict.

Ex post facto, they wouldn't. Only actions taken after its signed is it legally enforceable.

He secretly a female turtle reptilian but since conservatives don't really vote in women she just appears like a man. He's laying his little turtle eggs in a pond somewhere. Not surprising, he's a cold blooded reptile of a man, we've always known this.

"It's mostly the unwanted attention from creeps that makes them uncomfortable. I'll be going out with you & you step away for a few minutes to take a piss or something & some rando always tries to chat me up. I get it, I'm hot, I'm obviously married, go away. If you want that kind of attention, then they're fine if you like wearing a thong with a bit more coverage. If you get sweaty then yes they are uncomfortable, but so are bras. They're obviously for form, not function." - wife

More like it's what happens when your populace gets psyoped by foreign propaganda to believe a bunch of bullshit, supplemented by huge sums of cash to buy politicians and media. It has been happening since the Civil War, by basically every foreign power that dislikes the US, because it's really the only way to disrupt the US, since they sure as hell aren't going to win militarily. Only way is to forment civil war or division.

As the Russians say, "Anyone who does not miss the Soviet Union does not have a heart. Anyone who wants it back does not have a brain."

All on video and geolocated. Russia is a huge country with a high capacity to take damage before noticeable effects are seen, while also having to deal with its damage control. Without massive bombardment with bombers, that takes a while. That given, since Ukraine isn't blindly bombing civilians, it makes Russians much less likely to want to fight, it's just "make their lives suck by breaking all their stuff" while Putin is the only one forcing them to die, for what? A tiny bit of land?

I'm okay with this. Looks like Russian mail order brides are back on the menu, boys!

Every time it happens they clutch their pearls and say things like "See? White genocide is coming" or "you will not replace us" or some other nonsense to rally the paranoid. Thing is, the only white genocide that ever happens is when we go to war, like Russia vs. Ukraine. Whole lotta dead white folks there, like whole percentages of their populations, for no good reason. If that happened here conservatives would flip out, if they weren't told to fight and die by Trump, that is.

Getting good at comedy usually takes having to die onstage with your carefully crafted routine, over and over, getting heckled a lot, and keeping at it. It can be a very brutal and humbling experience for your ego, and it's probably something a lot of politicians could use.

I heard if you inject a Marijuana plant into somebody it could kill them.

"If you see something, say something." they probably had some idea that they were minors consuming alcohol (which is illegal, mostly for whoever they got the booze from) just by observing them. Nobody wants our youth to destroy their lives early, especially since it's an adult enabling it. If they were brazen enough to do this, they have probably been drinking for a while. Better to catch them early and try to turn them around before they do something reckless they can't come back from.

At least it has one good feature: since the cybertruck is made from crumple resistant steel, in case of an accident, YOU are the crumple zone.

Ah yes, the Jim Crow laws and selective immigration policies. It's sort of like when you have an idea about how great your hero is but don't actually know them. We didn't have a cowardly night of the long knives to kill every member of government that wasn't part of a party, then war with all neighbors. We went to war with ourselves and killed more of us than anybody else ever has. By the time Nazi Germany came around, America was well underway moving in the opposite direction, albeit slowly.

Courts will allow social services (if available) to do their thing first to try to help you change your ways before a judge passes judgement. You have to shape up quick, do all the things they suggest, and prove you aren't a threat to yourself or others anymore. If you do what social services tells you, the judge will usually dismiss your case. However, if you are a repeat offender or done something especially heinous, they probably won't. I've been through the system, it's very FAFO.

Except when you need them. A portion of people are violent, reckless, thieving, abusive, and psychotic. Without enforcement, the laws that protect innocent people are just suggestions. Bad cop behavior gets the spotlight as it should, but most of the time they're just doing their job, FOIA body cam footage helped prove that. If you want the laws they enforce or how they interact with you to not feel so oppressive, elect people that will change that.

Calm down there keyboard warrior, it's good strategy. Information warfare against an enemy creates chaos internally, humiliates their leaders, and demoralizes the populace, making them less willing and able to keep attacking. It can also boost your support abroad by making a fool out of your enemy. It's part of their hybrid warfare strategy, which Ukraine has been punching way above its weight at.

Oligarchy is the hydra version of monarchy. Capitalism will always result in either if left unchecked. It results in despotism, which we are currently experiencing.

I voted for Hillary, and got taco trucks on every corner. It's pretty awesome, food always tastes better than any Taco Bell, Taco Mayo, or Taco Bueno could ever make.

When asked by Elizabeth Powel after the constitutional convention of 1787, "Well, Doctor, what have we got, a republic or a monarchy?" Ben Franklin said, "A republic, if you can keep it." Cmon, America. Oligarchy is just the hydra version of monarchy. I don't want to let Ben Franklin down. It is upon us to maintain the moral and civic responsibility sustain it. Depositism arises when the people become corrupt.

Russia just announced they're drastically lowering the grade of fuel for their gas stations to address fuel shortages, which will not only damage their engines but also make them have to fuel up more often, so they are about to find out even more.
