You could probably charge half the police money for the ability to do what they do. Pink cuffs are not standard issue, but some officers choose to purchase additional pairs and some choose pink ones for breast cancer awareness. That said, I can’t imagine any circumstance where any officer in any field would attempt to arrest someone, put one cuff on the guy, and then nope out. Zero chance these “officers” were legit.

That would actually make sense. Bail bondsmen/bounty hunters who are being contracted by ice. There were some articles at the start of all this with bounty hunters claiming they were contacted by DHS and told they’d get paid per ‘illegal’ they snatched up off the streets. So it would t surprise me if they’re just grabbing anyone who looks foreign then running their info to see if they have any warrants somewhere. If not, kick them loose; if so, haul em in and get paid.

All of Scandinavia works the same way. The other countries doesn't have a wealth fund like ours, and it still works perfectly well. You are aware that the fund is mostly an investment fund, right? Unlike other oil countries, we understand that oil money won't last forever, so instead we decided to, well, buy the world. Meaning those are money that we don't actively use outside of a small part of the interests.
