Unfortunately Europe has been taking all the wrong lessons from the US as evidenced by the rise of the exact same right wing nationalist chuds across the continent. It feels like the world has looked at the shit show that is the US, seen the threat, and decided to cover themselves in the same shit because it's easier than flushing the toilet.

That's what I'm talking about when I say the world was fine with it because they liked the money. There were no systems in place to take the US to task in 2005, but 20 years is more than enough time to set up alternatives to the petrodollar, enough time to decouple from US banking system. But that shit is expensive and it's so much more convenient and, above all else, lucrative to stick with status quo.

And after that the US went to war in Iraq and faced 0 sanctions for it. The rest of the world has had 20 years of sitting back and letting America run wild because they liked the petrodollar too much. 20 years is long enough to build up alternatives and yet here we are, American power unchecked and the system straining.

Remember when the rest of the world went along with it for the payday and did nothing to keep it from happening again?

If you're currently in college in the US you should think about swapping your major to forensic accounting. That field is going to be BOOMING in a couple years what with all the fraud and grift to untangle.

Getting stuck and thinking it'll surely get better if you go a little further in is how you get extra stuck.

Miller and Vought are the most objectively evil-for-evil's-sake people in government, McConnel is evil-for-power's-sake.

Does the #2 from the primary get appointed then? Does the seat sit empty? Any appointment without direct election is equally undemocratic, whether it be from the gov, the leg, or the courts.

They voted for a person, not a party. The fact that they would have voted for anyone with a (R) by their name doesn't change that we elect individuals.

Y'know, Tom Massie's a republican. Bet he'd LOVE a chance to finish out McConnel's term.
