May I propose the German model? Judges on our Constitutional Court are elected for 12 years, can not be elected twice, and each nomination needs a two-thirds majority in parliament.
Add-on: of course the 12 year periods are staggered so that each year, between one and three judges have to be elected (16 judges in total, the workload is divided into two chambers of 8 judges each).

And that is correct. The people voted for a certain party, the Governor has no business interfering with that choice. And I find it very strange that the Executive can name replacements for the Legislative, this is not democratic at all and violates the separation of powers.
