You know... there are motors ... that do that for you...
Had a cat that would do this... unexpectedly... felt like getting hit with a pillow with knife blades in it going 90 and scared the hell out of me every time. In retrospect, Macavity may have just been living up to his name.
Everyone jokes about "Mitochondria", but forgets the practical things you learned like "Cold glass and Hot glass look exactly the same...."

Back in the day an Estes rocket or a Guillow balsa model was ten bucks and a Saturday afternoon of work ( Saturday and Sunday if you wanted to do a nice job ). Losing them to a tree was no hard loss and you'd laugh it off. Todays versions now have the cost and complexity of a mid sized car - for starters.
And if you can use the plane agai... oh...
"Saturday Night Fever" came out in 1977 so Disco was big at this time, especially on the AM pop stations. If you had an FM radio you might hear some of the seeds of the 80's. This was also the time when the Sex Pistols were punking it up in London.
I come from an age and place where it wasn't even "smoking or non smoking?"... it was "where's your ashtray?". Non-smokers were uncommon. I'm glad it's changed.
Sept = 7, September is 9th month. Oct = 8, October 10th month. Nov = 9, Dec = 10. We have Julius and Augustus Caesar sticking their names in to account for this. Also January to June is a mishmash of misheard names of gods of various pantheons. Chaos Conventionalized.

I remember after "Phantom Menace" came out, for years after the toy stores had shelves of unsold merchandise. My neighbor had a box of Queen Amidala Barbies she picked up for something like $20.
There are less expensive hobbies.... collecting vintage Ferraris, knitting with gold....

1999 also gave us "South Park", "The Iron Giant" and the under rated "Mystery Men"
"Hey can you help me fix my computer?""Yeah, let me take a look at.... " ( it's a purple IMac )" Yep. Nope... yer screwed... "Those things were not ever meant to be repaired. Looked cool though... will give them that...
My theory is cheap, unsold Halloween chocolate gets melted down to be reformed into cheap Christmas chocolate, and unsold Christmas chocolate becomes Valentines day chocolate, then Easter chocolate.... and the cycle continues...
The Squeaky Wheel Gets the Grease.... ?
That works up to a point. Then the problems get bigger, more complicated and pretty much impossible to "do in your head". I can add and subtract two digit numbers because I played a lot of darts. Darts gets you very good at doing simple arithmetic while drinking beer. But if I've got a linear algebra 4x4 matrix multiplication I'm gonna get me a pencil and paper... or Mathematica or Wolfram Alpha.
