If it's imperative (a command) there is no need for commas. If it's a list, the proper way to format the sentence is to use the Oxford comma: Eat, shit, and die. Most people eliminate the Oxford comma and write: Eat, shit and die. This is incorrect, but the common usage. How's that for a shitpost?
