I sometimes feel like my cat is training me instead.
Yep.. Gonna have to be on medication called Synthroid for the rest of their life. It takes time to get just the right dosage worked out with endocrinologist while monitoring TSH levels through blood-work. But for the most part it works well enough in the end.
Post-intubation sore throat is a bitch for sure. I had my complete thyroidectomy (along with all of the neighboring lymph nodes) about 4 years ago due to aggressive thyroid cancer that was caught early (yey). Once you have your Synthroid meds dosage properly adjusted you will hardly miss notice much difference. The only weird side-effect I noticed some time after was slightly increased appetite. On the flip side, the high blood pressure issue I had for years before that suddenly went away lol.
