When I saw the caption, I knew what was next. Glad to not be disappointed

England conquered the wold for spice and decided to use none of them

Let's have the Animaniacs answer all the questions now, that show is way more intelligent and coherent than whatever the f is happening in real life.

Seems like all the English food expertise goes to baking. All the sauteing, cooking, and mixing spices in ovens and grills is too hard.

9 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

China. There are restaurants selling their style of food literally EVERYWHERE.

9 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

They not only think they have good food, but they always have the nerve to act surprised at how good American food is.

9 months ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

Sounds like if you have to eat there it's mandatory to carry a jar of salsa whenever you eat out.

9 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

I bring Cholula sauce with me whenever I go to Europe. I enjoy the food almost everywhere I go but it’s a bit of a struggle in places that don’t have spicy food.

Were those tortellini on bread?

If you watched this the day it aired, it’s time for your baby aspirin and fiber.

Left the sound off and I could still hear the song

Pretty much all of them.

9 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Well I'm Australian, so I can't really criticise Pommy food. Not without being a hypocrite. I like their beer though.

9 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

As an Austrian, I like kangoroo meat. A little bit to lean for my taste, but the overall taste/texture experience is good.

Anyone has source for this with the complete song?

Genuinely curious how much money is there. I'm Canadian so let's say in CAD.

9 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

About 3.50

I'm just impressed by the whole song. First someone had to figure out how to make the lyrics fit then someone had to animate it accurately. Yikes.

9 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Animaniacs was a very good tv show.

9 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Insert joke about Britain conquering the world for spices yet using none of them in their food.

Nah, they just still eat like they can hear the air raid sirens...

I'm sure there's an interesting story behind this but I can't eat it. The pie or the story.

Stargazy pie! Cuz when you bake fish heads their eyes cloud over like they're gazing at the stars!! Those are pilchards/sardines in a mixed fish (+potato, egg, onion, bacon) pie. I totally wanted to try this when I was in Cornwall but didn't find a place that sold it. Learned now - thanks for the research prompt! - that it's a seasonal delicacy served specifically for Dec 23 in Mousehole.

9 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Mousehole sounds exactly like the kind of place where this is served

9 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I really hope you enjoy it if you ever do get to try it, bit I'm afraid I'll have to sit this one out
I might look up the history to see if there's some local legend

9 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Ok, you got me.

9 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Is that garlic cloves and mayo on bread?

9 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Pretty sure it’s banana

9 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

That looks like a mf'ing tortellini sandwich. In the states we call that bachelor chow 😂

9 months ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Think tortellini and cream cheese

9 months ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Look, my sister lives in England and I've been there many times.
Lots to see and do, and the history of the place is amazing to experience.
But the food is NOT why I go there, at least not the traditional English food.
There are plenty of good places to eat in, say, London, but they serve food from elsewhere.

9 months ago | Likes 117 Dislikes 1

If I ever travel to England I will exclusively eat from falafel trucks

9 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The traditional English dish is a curry, isn't it?

9 months ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

Yes.

9 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Yeah, who could stand roast beef or shepards pies.

9 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

9 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Plenty of great English food to sample, but this short is clearly ironic.

9 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The pub meat pies were good but the fish and chips did nothing for me

9 months ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 1

Give me the fish, I don't need no Chips! =(^.^)=

9 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

We had 3 different people in different parts of the city recommend the same dish and chips place and it tasted like water.

9 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Fish and chips is a meal fit for the Gods when you get it from a proper fish n chippery, and they serve it fresh. Get some potato cakes in there as well, maybe a dim sim, you're fuckin laughing.
That said, it's also capable of being the most bland, meh meal you'll ever eat if it's not appropriately crisped up and salted, and it's much MUCH worse if they are serving shit product.
Source: Australian living an hour from the ocean and who misses access to halfway decent fish n chips.

9 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

How would you rate long John's on a scale of 1 to 5. Ten being the maximum.

9 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's that one American chain yeah? I'll have to get back to you next time I'm in the states. Never had em.
I imagine not much higher than a 6 from what I hear, and realistically if you're settling for anything less than a 7 you might as well not have fish n chips.

9 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You have to go a little bit north to Auchmithie. Amazing fish and chips.

9 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Did you go to the local chippy or did you go to a chain?

9 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Local pubs mostly.
No chains.

9 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

the local chippy near to my parents has the best fish and chips in the area, beats all the ones in my area, though I mostly buy supermarket battered fish

9 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I found them to be okay.
The fish and chips vary a lot depending on the place, and so does the famous English breakfast. Sometimes it's great, sometimes it's meh.
But I can make bacon, toast, sausages, eggs, tomatoes, and beans myself, and it's generally better that way. At least then I can have as much bacon as I want...

9 months ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

The place that won the best Full English breakfast nationwide while I lived there?

IKEA, so try out their cafe and try that, it's pretty ok, but that I liked it and it was good upset me a bit as I'd gone in to be able to declare 'no way' rather than 'damn it'.

9 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

IKEA? For real?
Damn...
I'll have to check that out next time I'm over there.

9 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

It shames my ancestors to admit it but yeah, if I want a good full english I'll go there now rather than taking a chance elsewhere. It's not the best I've ever had but it's always pretty good.

And hey, if the swedes are going to show enough respect to do it right when we mostly don't ourselves then the least I can do is give them credit for it.

9 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Here's an alternative challenge. Name me a country that has worse food than England.

9 months ago | Likes 36 Dislikes 2

Dominican. It has got to be the most dry, unseasoned food I've ever tried.

I ordered a chicken dish, and all this restaurant gave me was a piece of breaded chicken with no seasoning, nor any sauce whatsoever. Chicken strips from a kid's menu have more flavor.

Never again.

North Korea

They just straight up have no food

9 months ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

So it's better at first.

9 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Not technically a country but Antarctica.

9 months ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

Not a lot of food to pick from there, but at least you can go clubbing

9 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

The Netherlands. I mean sure, it's a multinational country with a multinational kitchen but the original local cuisine is mostly gross. pancakes for dinner is great, but besides that it's mostly wet vegetables and potatoes all mashed together or pickled fish

The US has good food compared to England.

9 months ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 3

nah dude, the US has taken the best cuisine from all over the world and integrated it. That's something the brits forgot to do when they had an empire.

9 months ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 3

They did that but also, so many of them are eating like the luftwaffe is still flying overhead....

9 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

100% this. So many fragile American egos in these replies.

9 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 11

The non-cowboy parts of the US barely have a culture except for their bastardised fatty food, let the colonials have this one.

9 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Americans talking shit about their country is practically the backbone of Imgur. But no matter how upset we are with our country, we are still not deluded enough to think our cuisine is worse than England's.

Cuba. Cuban cuisine elsewhere has its highlights, but the actual food on the island is ugh

Anyone downvoting you hasn't been around Cuba lol.

When we finally found some authentic food i thought it was really good, but there was a lot of mediocre food imported from other cultures as well. Depends where you are i suppose

Norway

9 months ago | Likes 44 Dislikes 0

I find food in Norway generally rather good. Fish, pork, chicken, really good, beef ok, but land and mutton is really when things go bland.

9 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Fun fact: Norwegian stockfish is a national delicacy in Nigeria, to the point 90+% of it is exported to Nigeria.

Took Saudi blood money. Then got REALLY triggered when people didn't like it.

9 months ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 4

Not after the Ridyah comedy festival. Guy is just your average money seeker that would talk out one side of his face while being handed a fat sack of cash to forget how bad Saudi Arabia is.

9 months ago | Likes 43 Dislikes 7

Took Saudi money, then defended doing so when called out for it, I believe.

9 months ago | Likes 35 Dislikes 6

Honestly, the worst part is the weird bullshit act he’s putting up about “how he thought they were American hating savage terrorist types but then he realised they weren’t so different when he saw they had a Chili’s”. Like just own the fact that they offered a fat stack of cash that you wanted. Even Pete Davidson owned it.

Instead, he’s now going on about how all the people that look down on him for spin the festival are all bots.

9 months ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

He did a comedy festival in Riyadh and everyone jumped down his throat for it and he laughed it off saying people are making assumptions don't know the whe story and he doesn't want to comment further because he knows it's going to be taken out context and that no matter what he does or says will change people's minds

9 months ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 9

Honestly, let's say im imgur up and up, pro this and that. General sense of right, fuk this and that, and im not defending him, grown ass man can and do that for himself. Im saying this is his only livelihood, could he refuse and still be monetary fine, yea, its bill burr, he's fine. I almost take him accepting the gig as very..very..Bill Burr. Not that hes a bad person but accepting almost highlighted his comedic point, in a way George carl would accept, to prove a point. IMHO

9 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 12

I humbly suggest you check out Kyle Kinane. He's amazing and by all accounts a pretty good dude.

9 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's a shame, really. He had a great run, though; my favorite for many years. On the plus side, it has given me time to find some new under appreciated talent like Gianmarco Soresi and Jeff Arcuri

9 months ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 4

Gianmarco is my new favorite, next to Josh Johnson. Different styles for sure but I enjoy both.

9 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Arcuri is my new fav. He seems very genuine.
