A confession from me to you. As a teacher, I fear I am educating the next generation that will fight in the next great war since WW2. Having taught well over a thousand kids, I remember most if not all of their faces. I love all of them as if they are my own, having gotten to know them so well over the years. Many I keep in touch with, some on a deeply personal level. I share in their joys and grief with them in their time of sorrow. And here I am, dreading the future more and more, thinking about the real possibility their light might be taken out of this world. Their lives taken because of inconvenient politics or the causes of old men with grudges. But mostly I fear surviving this atrocity, having to live in a world that grows darker with their passing. One day I will have to live with the fact that my memories of them will fail in the end, having since long forgotten their faces, names and accomplishments. Their triumphs and their struggles. I fear that will be the point when I will give up doing what I love most in life, to teach and to guide. To be the parental figure some of them so desperately need. I fear this future that might very well break me because of my compassion. Please world, do not dissappoint me.

I recall one interview of Will where he talked about being lambasted at a con for portraying Crusher. It was in the early TNG days. Even one of the writers (I think it was DC Fontana) sided with the crowd.
Only later he realised "wait a minute, *you* write my character this way. Why are *you* siding with the crowd?".
Also, the more I learn about the TNG era producers (Berman in particular), the more I realize there were some real assholes working there.
It was a fun show. Ending with the mom grossly sucked, but the journey was great!
He was superb in that.

Think Tiberium Wars and Red Alert 3 were just fine.
Don’t think Klepacki did the OST for that one. Generals was a fine RTS, but the least C&C like title of the bunch. Felt like EA slapped the C&C tile on it for brand recognition and up the sales.
Command & Conquer soundtrack didn’t need to go so hard. Frank Klepacki did it just to rock our socks off.
My gym has this rule that you are not allowed to record while on the premises, nor play music over speakers. Doing so gets you kicked out promptly. The rules that are posted are your only warning.

Weirdly, as I moved away from the family computer and I got my own, the percussive maintenance was hardly necessary any longer.
Even more perplexing, the games which I continued to play on my own pc weren’t causing as many issues on my own machine, while the family pc continued to be troublesome. When I pointed out this weird coincidence, my dad got a bit irritated. It was almost as if games were not the cause of many technical issues as my father was convinced of. Weird…
Then again, the Dutch do have affordable health care and zero school shootings.
Percussive maintenance did wonders for the old Pentium 75 we had back in ‘95.
