Yep, when the game was stored on your computer and all you were accessing was everybody else's reaction. That's why in early editions of wow if you had a fast computer and slow Internet, you could still keep playing for some time while everybody around you froze. This isn't a technology thing, it's a choice thing. The game company is choosing to make it more difficult, so that they can say 'oh we can't do that'.
It gets increasingly more difficult, because initially you could just intercept the communication back and forth, decrypt what it was expecting and replace it, now it's more like you have to design an entire server to be able to process the information if you need to play.

Yeah, everyone knew. I shorted them a week after they came out. I was lucky enough to have a little bit of money put in an account by my parents, and through the years I've managed to earn a decent amount, but this was the best windfall thus far. Yep, I'm switching to graphene in 6 months. Went to activate insurance cuz my phone got smashed, I have it under another name, but when I put in the number -it used the number, to associate it with a Google account, to associate with an email account and sent an email to my account after I've never given it to them. Deliberately, in order to try and keep some space. But, both phones get online at the same IP/physical address and they assumed.

This is beyond the pale. If this officer is not put in prison for the rest of his life, it is basically a statement to the populace that police can murder children, or really anybody- indiscriminately and face no consequences. Maybe the people should give police a REAL reason for their fear. Show them that we could have ALWAYS got to them anytime, day or night, and all their fear up until this point was childish fear of imaginary monsters in the dark.

Yep, growing up in Evangelical Church but thought of the rapture was terrifying and I thought we would be doing everything we possibly could to prevent it, that's why they always argued against supposedly One world currency and all of that. And then I grew up and listen to what they were saying, instead of giving it the benefit of the doubt. Now, the heaven those people claim to want sounds like a good punishment for them. My issue is that they could be easily set up and programmed to be able to actually be useful. But some jackass *cough , elon* thought his thoughts were better than everybody else's so obviously it has to work this way. It would be so much fun to teach an Ai that learned, but the flaw comes down to the language that we use to teach it. Maybe I'm a weirdo, but I would be ecstatic watching something like that learn and change in real time, adapting to new programs, outlets, ports and input.
