If you know Iraqis, you’d know that they are some of the kindest, most hospitable people on earth. Seeing this and knowing these monsters are just reintegrated into society makes me sick.

usa is number one on warcrimes but never punished because they veto everything and hide under twin tower rubble. Scumbags all of them. I hope that guy is found and beaten to pulp. fuck usa and fuck your warcrimes military. Bombing kids school is just one example among thousands. I would shoot that asshole myself, if he shows up on NATO training. "oops my finger slipped" "no worries, we dont care about nazis, we write here it was accident, you good? and here is medal for shooting that assholes"

1 month ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Immensely sad.

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

So any explanation for how this isn't soldiers being part of acab? Cause it's certainly walking and talking like a duck to me.

1 month ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Cops and the military have very similar recruitment strategies.

1 month ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

was this after the whole 9 11 thing, where Iraq had NOTHING to do with it?

1 month ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

Yup and the reason American gas prices increased drastically and never went back down because of it

There needs to be more psych evals for entry into military service. On the other hand, he could be a useful distraction....

Be careful who and what you support: If you think our troops are "heroes", go to an off base bar on a weekend night.

Hospitality and making sure everyone has enough are core tenants of middle Eastern faith and society. ( as i understand it)

1 month ago | Likes 55 Dislikes 1

tenets. Tenants are people who rent a place. Sorry, pet peeve

1 month ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Thank you for the correction.

1 month ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

That’s the core of many religions around the world.

The tricky part is how to define “everyone”.

1 month ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 0

Core tennant of any moral and just society. sadly those are few and far between.

1 month ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

You know...EVERYONE....except those filthy "others".

1 month ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

And whether or not you actually follow the tenets of the religion you claim to follow

At some point, certainly

A taliban commander’s grandchildren served me tea in Afghanistan. We were all very polite. Being an unnecessary prick to your hosts when occupying their country is a good way to get the civilians to plant IED’s or not tell you where they are buried.

Yep, once I understood the culture, and understood that that was probably the safest place in the entire city for me, I wish it hadn't taken me so long to realize that in retrospect.

1 month ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Ultimately this is the real reason Americans lost in Vietnam. They still haven't learned this lesson.

1 month ago | Likes 30 Dislikes 0

I always impressed on my soldier to be respectful of the people and their culture. I told them you are probably the only American they will ever see. Their entire opinion of the US will be formed by their interactions with you.

1 month ago | Likes 60 Dislikes 0

An invader will never leave a good impression, no matter how polite he is.
American soldiers are feared and hated across the world for being occupiers and killers.
We don't have the same propaganda as in the US who tells people they invade for the good to help people and such ridiculous stuff.

I can only speak for my squad. Not saying we’re the good guys, we weren’t. But my squad rebuilt/reopened a UN school house in Garmsir after the Taliban murdered the teachers and shuttered it. Spent months finding locals able/willing to teach reading/basic math. We hid outside their houses with infrared to protect them at night ght because they thought the Taliban would slit their throats. No school when I arrived, couple hundred kids going to class when I left. And we didn’t kill any civilians.

USMC has a significantly higher respect for human life than American police, and we care a lot about good escalation of force procedures. I watched 3k people die on TV when I was 13, they lied about all of it and got me when I was 19. I’m proud of making it through the hard thing, ashamed of everything else and why we were there. Didn’t read “War Is A Racket” until I was already in Iraq for my first pump and it was too late.

1 month ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Yup. Invaders are never the good guys.

Until you’ve been in combat, you won’t understand. He was joking because he’s scared and trying to self-comfort, he’s also a 19 yo dipshit. Who knows who he grew into, if he made it.

Having said that, there were some truly sadistic people in a niche environment ripe for abuse. Most of our units held a pretty damn high standard, and JAG was involved if any civilian got hurt, nevertheless killed and you can’t hide that.

There’s a really dark humor that just pervades everything in that space.

Eeeh, you ran official torture camps. And even when JAG got involved, often went like Haditha: A squad masssacres civilians. It is swept underr the rug until media get involved. Four of them gets charged. Three never go to trial. The sole remaining mass murderer gets to plead guilty to a singlecount of negligent derelictgion of duty. His punishment? Demoted in rank and given a general discharge. "Our standards were better than russia, at least"

I'm ashamed if soldiers from my country go to another country to fight and conduct themselves in that way. Its unprofessional and frankly disgusting. His age isnt an excuse for that behavior, humor isnt an excuse for that behavior. And I have zero faith that an imperialist power actually holds its own soldiers accountable when invading another country for resources.

1 month ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

It’s disgusting humor but they’re not doing it. That’s the difference. It blows me away how many people on here have such strong opinions about something they have absolutely no fucking idea about. Oh well.

1 month ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Sure, how'd you feel about soldiers from a foreign country coming into your home, your kid serving them food or water, and them making that joke? Right in front of you?
Humor is only humor if the people involved understand it to be humor, otherwise its shitty.

Words matter, words have an effect on people. It blows me away how little regard people on here have about other human beings, esp ones who are in a situation they have no fucking idea about.

Victor Frankl’s main point in his books was: shit got so unrecognizably horrific, we could do nothing but laugh.

I’m certainly happy all of you have such wonderful situations you’ve never had to cope like that.

Beyond naive people around here. Telling vets to suffer? Yall fucked in the head and have no idea lmao

1 month ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Wait. No I’m supposed to hope you suffer. That’s what we’re doing here? So I naturally titled to the not piece of shit angle of being happy shit never got that bad for you.

But since we’re dog shit people here, I’m upset you never suffered that way?

Yall are fuckin something that’s for sure

Translation: “I like to use my unique experience to justify monstrous behavior in people like me because deep down I am ugly, and I know it, and I hate myself for it, but attempting to normalize it is more comfortable than even attempting to change.”

PS: you’re a cunt. Having killed poor, defenseless brown people in the desert will never change that. I hope your PTSD wins.
