35 hours is the legal maximum over here?
Do you guys not even consider that full time?

Oh right - anything made possible by socialisam is evil.

Honest question. What would have been the outcome if on the day Biden was sworn in, he had spoken out seriously against trump, but then offered him clemency (I.e. plea guilty for zero punishment) simply to move the debate forwards.
It would have been hard for him not to take it - and that would almost certainly exclude from office.
America really needs to work on toning down the hatred, and I believe there is a long history of pardoning anything shitty by prior administrations.

The thing is - they are only considered cheap due to the spiralling cost of CFC under the new rules.
The cost for most applications is roughly 30 times what unregulated cfcs would be.

The market disappeared under a mountain of red tape - which was designed to crush it without resorting to immediate total bans (to soffen the blow when they inevitably were introduced.

I remember how hard that question was my first year.

As such - I now take it as a challenge to make sure they never ask a question they don't want to know the answer to for anyone who might be less stable.

A lot of people really have no idea about what it's like to be phisically incapable of sobering up (quite litterally - I was genuinely told not to stop until medication arrived to allow me to stop without dieing).

To anyone in the pit - It gets better.

People try to use it as one. I just wear it. You want to use an actual slur about me? Ill use it about myself in an email to HR stateing that you appear to be attempting to use my **** identitiy as an insult, and feel you need additional training. Coying in a transcipt of the relavent call (this is a reallly neat feature on teams under accessibility).

Every single trans person (myself included) agree with you. None of us want this. There is a whole load of shit that comes with the territoy. Im sorry you got born into a horrific choice of two difficult lives - hiding in plain sight and never being yourself - or taking all the evil head on. Ive tried both, and they both suck. If your in a decent country - your coworkers will either be ok or not yur coworkers for long - transphobia is a firing offence under law in most of the world.

He absolutely can be. It simply needs a majority in the house and a supermajority in the senate to agree on it.

This exists in a lot of places. Close out bonus and saturday rates are quite common in bars - basically more wages when busyer.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 5

Surely you guys solved this? In any rational society, your insurance then has to pay out, and they have to sue the bastard, and you get legal protection against having your account marked as having made a claim. Then if the guy cant pay, given its a criminal charge your insurance gets the money back slowly via a wage garnish.
Legitamately you would need to live in a dystopia where insurance firms owned the government for a lack of there insurance to be your problem.

You know that multiple states ended up ending the last meal program due to prisioners doing weird shit (such as ordering a small banquet then not eating it). Heck, the transcition to lethal injection is way less humane than a firing squad or guiliotine (much more pain, much slower, and a much more significant chance of temporary failure), and was only made as it "feels less evil".

or, we can use some very basic algebra. again with our example of 6/2, we can write the formula 6/2=x and rearange this to 6=x*2. We can then test our proposed answer of 3, and see that yes - 3*2 is six. Now try 1/0=x, we would need to get 1 = 0 * x, but we know that 0 times anything is zero, so this formula cant have any answers!

Now lets consider we have one apple and zero people to give it to. we give all zero of the people an apple (which involves doing absolutely nothing), and then check to see if the answer is one. As we have handed each of them one apple, and still have some left, the answer cant be one. we can repeat this for any number we like, to proove there is no answer to 1 divided by zero.

lets take an example of 6 divided by 2. if i have four appels, i can give 3 each to 2 people, and end up with none. When I have none left myself, we have the answer of 6 / 2 = 3.

Might not actually be enough to flip the switch.
Criminal defendants get this better, as they only have to raise a reasonable doubt that some evidence that would clear them did exist at the time.
I personally think its a good thing that nazis are (as recently as last year) still seeing prosecution for acts taken during the war (for many of whom there are meticulous records)

So, if you are taking someone to court over an inheritance from 30 years ago, it's going to be very very hard to do (the responciability to retain tax records have expired - and you need those in these cases). But, if you find a series of letters about how to get away with steeling all the money, detailed notes on how much you would get legally, and under the proposed fraud, and deposit receipts - the fact that the jury will be told that all the legal and tax paperwork was correct and audited

But, those concerns have better ways to be settled than banning a day in court. For example, under the UK model, there is no statute of limitations, however, if you delay in raising a claim, then it is true that some evidence is often no longer available (records lost/deleted, witnesses died, memories fade, dna decays ect).
In these cases if the defendant can show (to the required level for the trail) that such evidence existed, it has to be treated ad exculpatory.

A good while ago. The idea of shouting down the country if a finance bill does not pass is not unique to the USA. But we have a rule that doing so disbands parliament, and causes a new election.

2 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

Because there is no need to have a law against this. Any politician who does this simply gets voted out. This is the way that every other democracy deals with this.
As an outsider, the level of reluctance to change in America is astonishing. You built your systems to prevent third party's which naturally leads to us vs them. You indoctrinate your kids on how good the country is so nobody has a desire to change. In most other countries, both the republican and democratic parties would have failed

It will be illegal (and not something that he can pardon) the second one of them floats out of territorial waters. If a single one of these is found in international waters by a country that doesn't fuck around, the people who planned this could be extradited overnight. Its on a fully signed international treaty, so none of the privaledge defences are worth a sausage, as the flag of the ship that finds it has full and unfettered jurisdiction.

Ideally, also learn the nato pronunciation of the numbers. They are not all the English standard.

OK. Say the following two: 60-02-46-37 and 62-46-30-07. This mistake once cost the French navy roughly 30 million. Single digits please!

They followed the rules and assessed which people needed to be taken in immidiately and calmly, and told the majority to self report as there was littel imminent danger, and a high chance they would all show up. The police responce is really good here.

The local police is majority black. Thats why there was no shootings or overt police violence.

What a shame it would be if any of these were to accidentally get loose and float into annother countries waters. If that happened then international treaties would be involved, and we would have to send the beloved govenor to face forign prosecution, where he cant just pardon himself. Gee I sure hope nobody manages to nick one and run it up to canada to frame him...

Basically only thing the judge can do non immediately. Refers him to his bar ethics committee. They won't touch him due to a desire to stay apolitical

Limits can be placed on pardon powers. Yes its hard. Yes it means ditching the philibuster (which by the way has been wildly successful in almost every first world country, bar spain (legal, last use 1963), uk (in the lords only and its only a stall tactic, used about once a year) and usa, used 8 times this week. But it could be forced through between an election and swearing in.
