Nowadays minimum wage is around 26k per year (12 per hr average across all states) which makes 2.5 jobs 65k per year, (also on par with median income) while a house costs 400k. That is 6+ years. Yes there were working poor in 1975, but the situation has gotten significantly worse.

Nah he's not a complete idiot. He is plenty smart enough to know how to abuse systems for his own gain. For example, he recently bought the second-largest AI platform (#1 github copilot, #2 cursor, #3 claude code, #4 openai codex) is undoubtedly telling them to route more prompts towards grok in order to pump its numbers before he jumps to another hype platform (space servers or mining or whatever).
