We have secondhand stores/flea markets in every town and bigger village here in Finland. I don't think a branded store would necessary get that popular (prices are more in them usually). Bookoff is awesome though, visited it and it's sibling stores weekly when I lived there. In Japan prices were pretty good for the condition things were (great).

30 olives sounds a bit boring. I mean get some cheese dice it. get some toast bread (toast or un toasted) dice it. get toothpick and now you have a fancy food item that no one will bat an eye on you eating. if you want to be super fancy dice some ham or something.
