On another note, "True Tenchi Muyo" is part of a long running Japanese LN series, a kind of whimsical scifi, but this anthology book trilogy drops you "in media res" as it was written later on and the trio mostly serves to help expand backstory and lore. It's also the only Tenchi Muyo text that has been officially translated (grrr). About 200 pages each.

The only Devils Advocate point I have for this is that sometimes you have to work with existing geography, hills and such, or you have to flatten huge swaths of land.
