Yes. We had a tank of inhibitor that you can dump into the mononer to retard the self reaction. You need to cool out down and inhibit. They should also have an exchanger that'll cool the tank fluid in addition to spraying the outside of the tank. So you pump the inside to a cooler and inhibit.
I've worked and designed tanks for this material. Either they didn't think it would happen to them or they forgot and got lazy. That's it.
