Too weird to live, too rare to die.

Can confirm. Quebecers can barely understand Quebecers from another town.

I remember when our work shop truck was "up for grabs" when we replaced it... it was a base model early 2000s Chev 1500 with 4.3 and zero options, and it was beat to absolute hell and rusty (cause all of us drove it like a rented mule). But because it "only" had like 100,000kms they wanted 15K. Total joke.

Closest you'll get nowadays is a Pagani. And that's not a bad 2nd choice.

I helped a friend buy and maintain a 350 SBC swapped 240. It was a blast. No end of headaches, because it was a backyard swap kind of build but great fun.

I'm at a point where my gut reaction is exactly the same as seeing a swastika. Funny that.

Joggins Fossil Cliff in Nova Scotia is a must see for fossil buffs. You can pick up a random rock on the beach, crack it open, and find stunning fossils like that. However it is a protected site you can't take them home.

I'd say it's more likely they are wondering where the high capacity drum magazine is.

A thousand times this. The whole "EV FIRES BAD" thing makes shake my head when we've been driving around on top of LITERAL CONTAINERS FULL OF LIQUID FIRE for 120 years.

I still can't figure out how he can look so utterly awful and a half step from death in candid photos, yet almost presentable in his public appearances aside from his mind being long gone. The drugs, makeup and girdles are doing heroic work to prop up his corpse.

We had a friend who hit one on his motorcycle. It flipped end over end and got destroyed (it was rebuilt and nicknamed "Goatslayer"). The legend was he hit the sheep at 100, 150, 200 kmh etc.... but he had a GoPro on at the time. He was going: 11kmh. It was like hitting a brick wall.

Look to France for the origin of this fight. Eventually it spread to Quebec and elsewhere. The far right and the far left united behind the "foulard" (literally "scarf", itself a dismissive bit of language) issue in a bizarre bit of terrible serendipity: right because xenophobia and anti-muslim attitudes, the left because of the perception of oppression. Usually the oppression angle was the public statement but behind the veil it was just repackaged anti-immigrant shit.

That's the paradox... to amass 62 billion, you need to interfere in people's lives and be a colossal fucknugget.

I'm glad she did it and welcome the support, but man, call out the racist fascist trans/homophobic BS rather than making it sound like Harris is the choice based on policy after heavy deliberation on your part. See: Linda Ronstadt. Set your opposition in stone for history to know you stood up against Trumpism.

BINGO. It was racism all along.

I run a small business. I do everything via etransfer and cash. No cards, no point of sale, and I have zero need to use either as everyone is totally cool with it. I get calls from POS companies weekly and tell them all to fuck off. It's a beautiful little empowering thing we have that lets us avoid corpo shit and BS fees on our income.

Here's another one for banana flavour: I've heard that it was based on earlier strains of banana that tasted quite different to modern bananas.

I remember when Murdoch bought NatGeo... the next month the cover story was about Jesus.

My fav example is the shrinking frozen pizza. I've been using the same pan for 10 years... it's not getting bigger every year, but it sure looks like it by how dinky the pizza is now compared to when they filled the whole pan.
