I once got two people from the warehouse to do this cushy job and they both were mentally exhausted after a week. different job, both hard.
The love you get in return is amazing but it's sad that every time a visitor comes he feels the need to crawl back in his shell.
I adopted a similar cat a few months ago, his trauma will stay and occasionally resurface when introduced to new elements.
