Read the article. They knew a cure could be found within fat cells (brown fat) for Type 1 diabetes a decade ago (I'm a Type 1). Back then it was a US study so of course it wouldn't have made it to human trials bc the companies were making too much money off of its exorbitant prices to allow for a cure in the works.

I'm type 1. BUT I AM CRYING. The US actively restrains developments for a cure. I read something about them possibly finding a cure in brown fat, but that was ages ago. I've no clue what happened to that American study. Just in recent years have they put a cap on the price, (but as OP said) that was due to them already having amassed billions. Fuck the US of Fucking A. Shit is never going to change and is you want humanitarianism? You best pack your bags and get out of dodge
It's hard when the majority of people in your area vote against their best interests, which has been instilled in many US citizens via educational costs, outreach to limit education in many red states, a system that targets the poor and vastly helps the rich, a system that judges based on skin tone and cultural preference, etc. etc. Sadly, money talks most here, and this country has done a damn good job at villainizing socialist agendas. People here are ignorant, and that's by design.
