It isn’t the lack of a formal education that is the problem, It is the mental stagnation. Science, geopolitics, and medicine are constantly evolving. Even history continues to be debated as fresh evidence and viewpoints arise. My parents never had the opportunity to go to college but they stayed informed about the world around them. My dad continues to be a voracious reader and my mother was always curious to learn more about everything new.

When I was a small child, my dad taught me to wipe my hand on my sock if nothing else is available. Sage advice that I have passed onto my own children.
#4 I was filling in a student about historical events of the seventies and eighties. I didn’t have the text reading available so I just described them to him. He stopped me and said, “ Don’t you need the reading packet for this?” I told him I lived through most of them.

At 54, I feel like I am finally at the right age to compliment men without it being seen as a come on or creepy. I love to see their eyes light up when I tell them they have beautiful (eyes, hair, etc.).
