Self diagnosis is valid. It's the ones who fake it so they have an excuse that are in the wrong.
My psychiatrist isn't legally able to diagnose me, but it's clear that I'm on the spectrum. I can't rationalize paying 3-7k for a piece of paper that won't improve my life in any way.
