I'd write something interesting about myself, but if I were interesting, you'd already know about me.
Yeah, people can come up with a million hypotheticals of why someone acted the way they did, but can't explain why I had no reason to do so, but I forgave him AGAIN and invited him to my wedding, and he failed to make the 20 minute drive, while my wife's dad came from halfway across the country.
I promise, people do not need to come to his defense and explain to me, an adult in my mid 40s, why an adult man could not find it in him to return a phone call. (not attacking you, just tired of people trying to comfort me without any basis for doing so.) I've been told I should forgive him, and my response is, "I forgave him every time he asked. Not my fault he quit asking."
Gravity affects dogs 300% more when they're laying on a blanket. My dog is 30 pounds, and pulling a blanket she is on top of is unreal. This dude is doing the real workout!
So a +150% markup to sell wormy corn
Not for a 150% upcharge it's not, lol
Most times they sell it to canning companies.
If corn had a shockingly 50% chance of being wrinkled and gross, it would still statistically be cheaper to buy two with the probability that only one of them is gross.
Covered the "ableism" in the comment. a +150% price markup negates any good will gesture towards doing it for people with special needs.
Yeah, it's usually a quarter here, too, but that's at Wal-Mart. The non-megacorp place charges more, but I gladly pay an extra quarter to not give the Waltons more money to not pay their employees with.
It's awesome seeing someone living their dream. My 13 year old daughter got her first major role in our community theater, Lady in Red from The Enchanted Bookshop, and people were getting her autograph on the program for when she is famous. (Not even unprecedented in my small community. One kid went on to be in multiple blockbuster movies and two are NFL pros, all from a county with a population of about 60k.)
Lol, that's why places here charge by the each! Big corn, little corn, they're two damned quarters!
I straight up throw them as is into the oven. no need to use any other material. corn is perfectly steamed and the husk keeps it warm until i'm ready for it!
I went and methodically upvoted (nearly) every comment just to offset the bot, so I'm doing my part
Jennifer Tilly, Joey Lauren Adams, Lori Petty- All women with less feminine voices who all sound sexy AF. There's no wrong way to be a woman.
Not inherently "bad" cuts, but meat is variable. So you look at a dozen practically identical steaks, and some are going to have better marbling or a more even textures, and some are going to have less. I do it in my home kitchen. If you want me to basically char the marbling out, you're not getting a ribeye. I've got a sirloin i can ruin with your name on it.
That was my original thought growing up, because i met him when i was 8 and he disappeared again a few months later. But I met him as an adult, he was around for a few months, and then bailed again. The next time I heard from him was my cousin calling me 6 years later to ask me to come to his funeral. Repeated the exact same behavior without my mom involved suggests that it was him, not her.
all good, some people have a hard time with faces, and it's not like anyone has seen what he ACTUALLY looked like in a few decades.
(Only explaining the joke because it was specifically asked) The face is changed, but it's similar ENOUGH that upon casual observation, you think that perhaps you remembered wrong about what Michael Jackson looked like. But observe it slightly more and you remember photoshop exists and its a face swap.
My parents weren't the best, and i used to think they did the best that they could, but as an adult I realized I grew up less than an hour drive from my dad and met him a few times when I was 8, and not again until i was about 23, and my mom was a narcissist who only valued people based on how much they expressed their dependence on her. Sometimes parents just suck.
Honestly, they probably didn't have any cheap cuts of meat they were willing to burn, and didn't want to ruin a good cut.
I used to work a Max Sec prison. (Yeah I know, ACAB, but literally one of the only decent paying jobs in my town.) Helping out and was holding a position keeping watch while other officers did inmate movements. Guy in a cell just talking mad trash, and I never responded to any of it. At one point the doors opened and he was standing there. I turn to him and say, "what was that?" He says, "oh, nothing... Just making conversation." He then closes his door without a word more.
#9 He's not mocked BECAUSE he's short. He's mocked because he's an asshole. There are characters shorter than him that are never mocked for their height. He's an asshole, and his height is something he's insecure about, so they use his insecurity to mock him.
In a restaurant, my daughter ordered a steak, and asked for it medium well. I interjected and said, "You like your steaks medium rare." She asked what I meant, and I said, "I cook your steaks. You like medium rare. I just tell you it's well done so you don't think about it, but you like medium rare." After she got her plate, she took a bite and realized I was right.
My daughter cried so hard that the cast remembered her and reposted her selfies with them after she tagged them.
That's how they get you. One minute you're there for the twink in overalls, the next they got you watching musical theater.
For cast iron, yes. For stainless steel, no, gross. My flat top is cast iron and I would be traumatized if it were cleaned to gleaming, but that's because it would be rust within hours. My stainless steel stuff stays bright and shining, though.
Right, meanwhile I'm using the sams one i bought ten years ago. I've had to replace the flexible rubber flap twice, but a bit of wear and tear versus having to buy and install a whole new system is way cheaper in the long run.
Needed to hire a guy to fix a busted pipe. My wife said, "why can't you fix it? You've fixed it every time before." I said, "That's precisely why we need to hire a pro! Obviously I don't know enough to fix it properly and it breaks every year!" Basically came down to fixing it properly would require buying tools I'd need exactly once and the pro was less than the tools in cost.
Depends... How far away are you and how far are you willing to drive?
#30 #31 I call this "Diminishing your own expertise." When you're good at something, you tend to only compare yourselves to people who are better. If you were to spend an hour a day practicing violin, by the end of one month, you'd be in the top 1% of the world's best violin players. That's because most people can't play it at all and the average skill level for the violin is so close to zero that it's a statistical rounding error that anyone can play it at all.
