They're also not permanent. They are puberty pausers. You stop taking them your body goes back to making whatever it thinks it's supposed to make. We use them in many medical settings. They ARE safe when prescribed and monitored by a physician.
I feel like there is an element of truth to it but the reason people mention it so frequently is that it offends homophobes. So because of how much it bothers them, people are more likely to spread and share those views. Which, yes, I agree is a little problematic.
I think i get why the loophole if you consider it that exists. Just because they're in congress doesn't mean they can't have expenses. Even unforseeable ones. And might require the selling of stock to protect their financial health and afford bills. A complete block on selling in that regard would be cumbersome to anyone in office who isn't a millionaire really. As long as there are serious string attached and oversight. I think selling should be allowed.

Dems in this country have been overwhelmingly centrist. And those who are more left are hardly radical. Don't mistake the nonsense republicans make up as scare tactics for the actual political makeup of the democratic party. We should not tailor dem representatives to be "less offensive" to Republicans. They have proven they will lie no matter what. That's how we get centrist mess we're in. Elect REAL democrats.

I'm not sure why you expect storming military infrastructure but I don't think it's insane that civilians aren't trying to assault concentration camps no matter how vile we see them. It's big armchair talk to suggest you'd be one of those suicidally stupid enough to attempt something like that. And I'm not sure what that would achieve.

Ok but before we start felating ourselves what we the actual brake down? Like IQ above X or college degree = 95% liberal? Or is it more like 60-70%.
