Considering they increased lockstep until the late 70s, yes obviously that is a substantial change. Back then a minimum wage worker could afford to support a family on their income alone. Today most minimum wage workers can barely afford to support themselves individually. I’m done arguing with some billionaire simp with tunnel vision. No reason not to lump you in with the rich when it’s bbq time
The fact that you ignore all but a handful of cherry picked facts that only look good out of all context is proof enough that you’re either arguing in extremely bad faith or haven’t a clue what your talking about
Between 1979 and 2020, workers' wages grew by 17.5% while productivity grew over three times as fast at 61.8%. And you consider this a good thing? Have you considered thinking about it for more that 2 seconds and with some context? Minimum wage workers have to work 6X as many hours to afford tuition compared to 1970s counterparts. https://www.intelligent.com/1970-v-2020-how-working-through-college-has-changed/
The world has advanced since the 80s, but it has in no way improved in the US after factoring out broad technological advances. Wages as a percentage of the pie? Down. Student debt? Astronomically higher. Households make only a little more relative to counterparts 40-50 years ago meanwhile that has only increased as the majority of households become two income instead of one. How is that improvement? Only a small minority have reaped the benefits of decades of progress
This isn’t really anything special, pretty much just standard protocol. They have to allow commercial traffic per the Montreux Convention. Basically this means even in peacetime there are restrictions on military vessels passing, but never civilian vessels. During wartime they are allowed to impose further military vessel restrictions. They also can’t charge for passage the way, for example, Egypt can charge for passage of the Suez Canal
Harsh? This is one of the poetically beautiful things in the world. Wanna talk about harsh? One day you’ll have the biggest poo of your life and it will all be downhill from there.
It’s like all the boomers fail to see how obvious the differences are today. They’re literally running news stories about someone in their 20s buying a house because it’s so unusual nowadays
News: “24 year old manages to buy 3 bedroom home without penny pinching or getting any help from parents…. Oh it was the 70s and that happened all the time and wasn’t newsworthy…”
Mfer thinking fantasy is science and calls this other person ignorant lmao
It took 10 million years of most of life on earth producing oxygen to get the oxygen levels we have now. Can this be replicated on mars? NO, it doesn’t even have a magnetic field like earths. How do we have a magnetic field? The earths molten core, which weighs 9 septillion pounds and runs at 5200 C is spinning against the mantle, producing a magnetic field that allowed our atmosphere to develop. How do you plan to replicate that on mars?
I’ve done sheets of cheese on homemade pizza, it doesn’t have to be bad, but it’s definitely not this
BUT, to concede part of the point: Truman probably also wanted to swing his dick around in front of Stalin in anticipation of the coming Cold War
No, that’s a bridge too far. With the near perfect clarify of hindsight we can argue that the atomic bombs were overkill, but at the time we were in what amounted to a total war with an enemy that largely committed mass suicide instead of surrender. There was no guarantee surrender would happen, and you don’t spend ungodly amounts of resources to develop a super weapon just to not use it on the hopes your mortal enemy has a change of heart.
Definitely true, but unless all the high level engineers are going to flee it would have a major impact on future decades, not to mention massively disrupting the western supply of semiconductors. It still doesn’t make a lot of sense but that’s their angle
Admitting is the point, they lean into it so they can bluff that it’s overblown or not a big deal. So when serious evidence comes out their base doesn’t even blink because they’ve already been conditioned that it’s a nothing burger
That and it would basically make them the instant world leader in semiconductor manufacturing. They make a lot of semiconductors already but they are currently behind the leading powers in terms of how advanced they can make them (massively oversimplified).
For anyone curious there are 2 (perhaps 3) general reasons china does this: 1. They want access to the resources in said sea regions. 2. They want close access to the Strait of Malacca - their strategic Achilles heel, through which 2/3 of their imported oil & many exports pass. 3. They are basically cornered in terms of ocean access by the first island chain (a US strategic chain of alliances that make it difficult for Chinese military vessels from leaving china without being tracked easily).
Yeah seems like OP is telling on themselves a bit “I put up with your weird stuff”. definitely not a lot to go on and only one side of the story though
Staged. How do I know? That ain’t even enough pasta for leg hair
Excuse me, but we like you giving advice here, it’s good to know you care. It’s okay to lurk, but we like to hear from you too and you’re always welcome to share your thoughts

I’ve read that solo goldfish get lonely, so I got a couple of companion goldfish and it really did make a noticeable difference combatting the loneliness. One of the new fish was diseased and they all caught it and died
It’s easier to add salt to our imitation seawater is why
Ok yeah that was pretty great. I’ve been told porn plot lines suck but I’d watch a whole feature film of this shit
