Belushi was literally americas houseguest. He would wander off set and the filmmakers would get a call “hey uhhh John Belushi is sleeping on our couch. Here’s my address.”

This is one of those movies where I can watch a 1 minute clip of it and somehow end up with the *entire* movie replaying through my head. Everything about this movie was amazing. The music, the car chase, the entire premise.

Same! It's one of the few just feel good and have fun movies that doesn't pander to corporate music industry. It highlights some of the greatest and most influential artists. I want more of it but there is no way to recreate that magic.

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

The movie brought me closer to Blues. 30 years later I finally followed up a long-held dream and bought me a saxophone just so I could jam a few notes every now and then.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Does this movie still hold the record for most cars wrecked in a movie?

3 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Sadly, it doesn't even make the top 10 anymore. It was at 104 and the lowest in the top 10 now is 130. https://www.topgear.com/car-news/movies/here-are-10-movies-destroyed-most-cars

3 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Sad...those movies are smashing the same cars over and over for different takes. I thought Blues Brothers had the most wrecked on screen.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Blues Brothers does hold the record of largest pile up in a move with 50 cars.

The Blues Brothers is like a who's who of the best musicians of the era. It's up there with Crossroads as two of my favourite films of all time.

3 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

I saw it way too late and I feel it didn't quite land for me the way it should have. I wasn't blown away by the movie as a whole and I was a little disappointed I didn't fall in love with it like my friends all did. But hoo boy, that chase scene at the end was something else.

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

It held the record for most destroyed cars in a movie for a while at 104. It still holds the record for most cop cars destroyed in a chase I believe, at 60!

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Princess Leia has a rocket launcher and there’s a car chase that involves a Pier 1. I’ll say no more…

I'll take a hit here too: that second movie's soundtrack had nothing to be ashamed of, even when compared to its predecessor.

Yeah good cast, but the movie plot was bad.

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Frankly, I watched it for the music.
