Chiropractor on a plane

Ah, Commando. Fave scene when he puts on the vest then applies camo then later takes off the vest to reveal heโ€™s magically covered with camo under the vest.

And once again I'm reminded how much I miss Bill Paxton.

I think Sean Connery's line from Thunderball "mind if my friend sits this one out, she's just dead" is better.

Ah yes, when you could get away with blatant murder as long as you were cool and stoic

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

1 year ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

That would definitely start to smell after a long flight. Especially because of the soiled undies.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The soundtrack to this movie always put me off. Love Commando tho.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

this the one where he just jumps the fuck right out of the plane after it takes off? dusts himself off.. v

1 year ago | Likes 78 Dislikes 1

One of the most awesome Schwarzenegger lines of all time... Followed by an unfortunately bad dropping scene.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

[later] female lead: Where's Sully!?
Arnold: I let him go.

My fav line of the film ๐Ÿคฃ

My dad's favorite line of the film. I don't know how many times I've heard him quote it.

Arnie and Bruce, tough choice, Bruce was a better actor.

Movies make breaking someones neck super easy. I doubt it would be that easy in real life. Just saying

Personally I prefer predator the musical as it has a better tune, but goddamn that made me want to go and watch both films again

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Predator the musical is just about the best thing ever.

Man, it's one of those deals where you step back a little and just realize what an absolute psychopath John Matrix is. Like, as a cheesy action flick, the one liners are all top tier in this movie. But looking at it as a man who just casually killed a lot of people, those lines all get real dark, real quick.

1 year ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 0

He's been programmed to do that. Killing those who are in the way of him completing his mission are no different than him stepping on ants. And even more so if that mission is saving your daughter.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Chenny!

Such a great movie. The whole thing was just set ups for Arnie to say one-liners.

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I do this to every asshole that takes my window seat. A boy's gotta SLEEP.

1 year ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 4

Plot twist: the woman in front of John Matrix is another mercenary. In fact, John kills pretty much all passengers on that plane, we just don't see it happening.

Real talk: DO NOT kill someone at the beginning of the flight because without bowel control, they will soil themselves and the seat next to you. It is much better to render them unconscious and poison them with something that will not take full effect for several hours.

1 year ago | Likes 341 Dislikes 5

Render them unconscious... So, give them a nice concussion enough to be severe brain damage. Check.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Noted

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Depends, you have to weigh what offends you most, their stench or their actions

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Uhh but theyโ€™ll require me to engage in small talk!!

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Ah thanks, just in time.

1 year ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

Fo real. I almost fucked up.

You think an accomplished commando oike arnie doesnt know about air tight butt plugs! Please

1 year ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Oh damn dude I'm so glad you said that, I've got to drastically change my plans for this afternoon...

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Plot twist, you saw him leave the bathroom just before sitting down

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Can you take your fist and, say, ram it into their stomach?

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

They cut the scene where Arnie makes sure his kidnapper goes for a big dump before takeoff. Check the director's cut.

[in Arnold's voice] Do you need to make a boom-boom?

1 year ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

So render them unconscious.... check..... poison them.... wait I dont have poison.... ok have poison....drink this you pr1ck.... oh wait..... find a needle.... find a syringe...... idiot....!

1 year ago | Likes 37 Dislikes 1

Just uuuuh give them stale milk, and they'll rush to the bathroom, leaving you alone.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It really is important to plan ahead for these things. Book, neck pillow, gum, topically acting poison in a 3oz container. Just the basic in flight stuff.

Commando. The pinnacle of '80s action movies.

1 year ago | Likes 463 Dislikes 0

There's an audio dub version of this floating around that's hilarious. The fight scene in the hotel is fantastic. "Someone was cooking in here, smells like fish sticks." ๐Ÿคฃ

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

*A*. *A* pinnacle.

1 year ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

The asterikses reminded me of A-Team

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Watched it recently, holds up in most ways and the ways it doesn't creates hilarious 80s nostalgia. A delightful romp.

1 year ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I always liked it, but less of the action angle and more the comedy/horror angle. Arnold just spitting one-liners while the badguys just fail to realize they are in a horror movie and they are the victims. I also always liked how the movie just gets to the good stuff asap. You came to watch a spectacle and they are gonna give you one.

1 year ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I can't stand the last act where Arnold literally just stands there in an open field without even trying to take cover and mows down a hundred soldiers who just can't hit him for some stupid reason.

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Matrix was able to do that because he was trained by the Americans, obviously.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Letโ€™s not be hasty. Itโ€™s a hell of a time, but better than Predator? Aliens?Robocop? No way. :)

1 year ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 4

Oh those are all exceptional, but from a sheer "80s" standpoint of sheer OTT madness and saturation, 'Commando' is the benchmark of distilled 80s Action. It's not necessarily about 'better' or 'worse'

1 year ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 0

Abduction? Check. Reluctantly called back into service by helicopter Commander? Check. Teammate who turned on him? Check. Arming scenes? Check. Cheesy ass dialogue with one liner quips? Check. Bodacious babe? Check.

Running man for me

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

The problem is that despite the fact that those are all clearly superior films, they're all sci-fi action movies. Commando is straight action.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Those are all different genres because of sci-fi and future fantasy. Commando is just straight-up dude on dude action.

1 year ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

Closest would probably be something like Delta Force, Rambo, although those took themselves more seriously

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'd have to rewatch it but my memory of Commando is that it took itself seriously.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Lets not forget American ninjas

I almost made that comment without the phrasing. Then I realized I had to spice it up.

I haven't watched it since I was a kid, sitting in the downstairs rumpus room with my neighbors. I have to get back to that.

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0
