Gotcha! Good save by a hero.

Thank god that ended well

If you live in a high rise, you need an evacuation plan and equipment. Otherwise, you're either gunna get hurt or die.

Great catch!

Kudos for the 'jump' as well. That ladder is fully extended.

2 weeks ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

See? It all worked out. Fires are no big deal.

– Elon Musk, probably

Do a flip!

RT. Yuck.

2 weeks ago | Likes 76 Dislikes 7

True. But it seems they are the only ones with this video? This is the middle of Berlin, germany, 11th floor of a Building, the ladder only reaches to 9th.

2 weeks ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

If RT are the only ones with a video, and the video is from outside of Russia…

Fuck RT. Fuck Putin.

2 weeks ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 2

Well, for now it's just a meet-cute.

This is exactly what I said before reading the comments.

This is exactly what I said before reading the comments.

It is the completely involuntary and appropriate response

2 weeks ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I’d be scared to jumped too. Holy fuck.

1 week ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Good catch butbthe music is wholeheartedly unnecessary .

2 weeks ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I can't believe that was the only option.

When I see stuff like that, I always wonder why they don’t turn around and grab onto the ledge and lower themselves down and drop from there. So it’s like a 10ft drop instead of 15ft.

Like, I get why they don’t *tell* people to do that, it’s a lot easier to get scared and freeze up while trying to climb down, but I don’t get why I never see anyone try.

Probably the only one given the time frame and logistics.

2 weeks ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 0

Fire is much, much, much faster than you think. And smoke suffocates even faster than that.

2 weeks ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 0

if you're lucky it suffocates. I was welding and I happened to get a bit close to a single plastic washer and caught a waft of the smoke. That shit burnt the fuck out of my throat, chest and eyes, I instinctively ran out of the building. I think it was a teflon washer so probably hydroflouric acid or similar was what came off it. That was a single coin sized washer in my lounge getting a little crispy and giving out a wisp of smoke. A modern house if *full* of plastic.

Likely that is a bedroom with only an access to the room with the raging fire

2 weeks ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Nope, it actually was: /gallery/fsMvPIn/comment/2509369123

It's always possible the ladder just does not reach any higher. That's terrifying.

2 weeks ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Time for a new pair of pants.

2 weeks ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

I thought that music was a spongebob soundtrack

2 weeks ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Good for him/her, I couldn't even get out there.

2 weeks ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 3

That was at the scene of a fire here in Berlin a couple of days ago. The ladder couldn’t extend beyond the ninth floor, and the woman was in the eleventh. She made it, though.

2 weeks ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

That was kind of the premise of "The Tower" and "The Glass Inferno", the two books "The Towering Inferno" was based off of. The books came out when New York City was building all those high-rise skyscrapers, and pointed out that companies were building giant coffins, because the fire department didn't have (and would NEVER be able to have) ladders that could reach high enough.

2 weeks ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Might as well…

2 weeks ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You'd have better odds aiming for one of those trampoline thingys on the ground

2 weeks ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 5

If they had any and given this is Russia i assume they didn't or why the hyper risky catch maneuver then.

2 weeks ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 6

This was in Berlin.

2 weeks ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Yep sure from 11th floor (around 28m up) you would for sure jump onto a trampoline (leaving aside the fact that it's not a trampoline they're using, its an air cushion).

2 weeks ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Way too high, I think those top out at being safe around 6 stories? She was on the 11th so the ladder that could reach the 9th was it.

2 weeks ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Ouch. Firefighter's back will be sore after that one

2 weeks ago | Likes 116 Dislikes 1

Deserves it, he should have brought a longer ladder... fkn amateurs!

2 weeks ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 11

He can think about that when he’s tired of high-fives and blowjobs

2 weeks ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

Firefighters are simply the best. FIGHT ME!

2 weeks ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

"Fucken worth it!" : that fire-fighter, probably.

2 weeks ago | Likes 63 Dislikes 1

I was thinking if I was the firefighter I would smile everytime I felt that pain

2 weeks ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

No doubt. What's a bit of bruising, or even a couple of busted ribs against a human life?

2 weeks ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

Friend was a firefighter. Said every scar, every injury, every time a joint ached, all of it worth it, because it meant families were still together.

2 weeks ago | Likes 56 Dislikes 1

He definitely saved some bad people... statistically speaking...

2 weeks ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 17

There’s a reason it’s not AFAB.

2 weeks ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

For perspective. Also, this happened two days ago in Berlin.

2 weeks ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

Shiiiiit you need more upvotes, reading its the 11th floor and ladder only reaches 9th floor is one thing, seeing it on a fucking "fishbowl" effect (smartphone camera effect) makes it soooo much worse

2 weeks ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Uch, Berlin?
