A.I. published the report, classified beira place among ‘anti-rights’ organizations, then removed the report after complaints and turned itself in- charity commission. i don't think jk sued, but she did offer to bankroll anyone who had legal issues.
so, it was not an interum report - they supported it - but pulled after backlash. she didn't sue, but will pay any legal bills for those anit folks.

More accurately, "cloud" means "other people's computers." When you upload a file to your Google Drive, you're not sending it to one particular server, and Google isn't going to necessarily host it on only one particular server. It gets moved around and duplicated, all seamlessly to you. A cloud setup is far better than the only single-server (with maybe a mirror) setup in terms of data redundancy, recovery, and availability, so "cloud' does mean something, but it's still hosted by someone else.

Proton is great. Everything is zero knowledge architecture. Well, DVD and blu rays are still being made by verbatim, I believe verbatim also still makes archival grade 100gb bluray discs, which should last pretty close to the advertised 100 years if you store them properly in a dry and dark place. Grab a cheap external drive made with a pioneer or Asus drive as the brains in it and you'd be pretty much set.

Yeah. Never again. I tried to ignore my MIL's enthusiasm for that world, but now I know she switches the gender and name she uses for me based on if she is upset with me or not (which is probably pretty common these days as I'm separating from my wife).
I wouldn't call my wife a fan, but she is waiting on the reboot series. The final nail in our marriage was her making some vile TERF like comments directed at me and someone I care deeply for. I understand hurt and anger, but that went too far.

Well I don't have to deal with her mom any more and she was easy to excise even though I spent more years thinking of her as more of my mom than my own mom (who I now know is a wonderful person now that we understand who I really am and that our rough past was all from no one understand me for almost 50 years).

I have a little more sympathy for those who have the deathly hallows tattoo on them, because the books were beloved for over 10 years before she revealed herself to be a piece of shit. I mean, Jo was always kind of a racist, but in that well meaning "oh your girlfriend is so smart for a black" kind of way (which is still bad, but less bad I guess), but she didn't go full twitter villain until like 2020. Indeed, but that's what a dog whistle is. When the symbols have been co-opted to represent the hate, as a means of identifying each other. Instead it seems as if the opposite is occurring, where the symbol is being forced by the other side onto the hate group, and grabbing everyone who associates that symbol with other things along with it.

Trans people and LGBTQ+ and allies are getting their Deathly Hallows tattoos covered or altered because of this situation. I haven't seen anything that makes it a dogwhistle yet, but also its inclusion is more than a joke.
As of now, I don't think seeing the symbol on someone's car or notebooks means anti-trans, but I'd judge each instance on its own merits. Judging how other symbols, such as Pepe the Frog and the OK sign, became co-opted, it may be a matter of time.

There is a third alternative that will probably get me downvoted into oblivion because this is Imgur and people just skim rather than actually read. Not everyone in the world uses social media (I know, right? Crazy!). I'm one of those people. I have zero social media presence (and I do mean ZERO), so if not for Imgur I wouldn't even know JKR was a massive waste of oxygen. It is entirely possible (or at least not improbable) that there are people out there who are just unaware and uninformed.

I get your point, but I disagree. To your point specifically, she is such a colossal cunt about this that it regularly gets mentioned in mainstream reporting about her and the HP works.
Secondly, you don't have to know what she is doing and still end up supporting her views/goals even if unintentionally. A HP fan can be a truly lovely and supportive person that is completely ignorant about the cunt they support, but I can't know that and I have to put my personal safety first and foremost.

Given that HP was translated into pretty much all languages, there's probably a billion HP fans out there. 3/4 of which have read HP as young people, are now adults, remember it fondly, but don't interact with the fandom much any more. Given the sheer number of people like that we definitely and absolutely need to create and spread awareness as well, people need to know what massive cunt she is so they can avoid the HP fandom
