Cis-ish dude. He/him.

I have many causes. And opposing hate speech is a worthy one.

Well, since I’m actually part of the affected community, and using hate speech is a lot worse than mildly racist marketing, your view of me is very incorrect. But my view of you, as one of the people cheering on cops for yanking people out of wheelchairs and dragging them out in cuffs is feeling pretty accurate.

312. This “community” disgusts me.

It hurts me too. Every time I read it, it rings in my head for hours. And yet this community refuses to let that word go, no matter how much harm it does. And in doing that, they reveal that all claims to be progressive, inclusive, accepting, they’re lies. They’re the same cruel bigots as the Republicans, just painted blue.

You need citations to know that mentally ill people have been discriminated against? How ignorant are you?

269 upvotes on a comment using a slur. You fucks are no better than the Republicans you pretend to hate.

I go outside plenty. You know what I see? A world run by bigots and criminals who are stomping on human rights while legions of idiots leap to their defense at even the mildest criticism. I guess it makes you feel good to be part of something even if that something is injustice.

The lengths you assholes will go to justify using a slur.

Against the millions of mentally ill people who have been oppressed, imprisoned, maimed, and murdered with that word used as justification.

I don’t care what they’re quoting. It’s a slur.

1 month ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 5

You don’t call anyone that word unless you’re a bigoted piece of shit, actually. So I guess you are.

I’m appalled by how many of you on this supposedly progressive site are using and upvoting slurs. You all sound just like him.

That word is a slur and is not ever acceptable to use against anyone, no matter how much you think they deserve it.

Mindy Kaling is a piece of shit and so is anyone who uses that word.

1 month ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 3

It isn’t.

1 month ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 12

That’s not a thing. There is no clinical use of that word anymore. It’s just a slur, and it’s never okay to use.

1 month ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 3

There is no acceptable use of that word. Hate speech is never okay.

1 month ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 15

That word is a vile slur and it is not appropriate to use against anyone, no matter how much you think they deserve it. Stop using its

Well, you’ve certainly got that first part right.

Like I said, your feelings are readily apparent. I’m done here. You can finish your little tantrum on your own.

You entered this conversation with misogyny masquerading as pseudo-logic. You don’t deserve any response for that but derision and dismissal. Now fuck off.

Sexual assault is the topic. You didn’t have to say anything about it, it’s the context of the conversation. If you were talking about something else, you’re in the wrong place. And you didn’t have to mention your feelings, they’re readily apparant. You’re logically incorrect too, but breaking down why would take more time than it’s worth. As for a quote to prove my point, it’s in your first sentence. “Occasionally true”. That is severely downplaying the problem and immediately hostile.

What if you just, like, threw a towel over it.

Because centrism will always capitulate to fascism.

They just stopped pretending.

You’re not making a strong argument that this has anything to do with you reading something.

I’m not being an ashole, you are. You came into this immediately downplaying the severity and frequency of sexual abuse. And your refusal to understand and accept the point she’s making *is* marking you as unsafe and untrustworthy. It’s not because you disagree with some arbitrary dogma, it’s because you are prioritizing your own feelings over women’s safety, which itself proves that you do not regard their safety as important or respect the gravity of the danger they face.

It’s not “occasionally true”. It’s almost *universally* true. But thanks for telling everyone that you’re one of the men she’s talking about.

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Yes, that’s the point. They’re pointing out that the original comment is also a tautology.
