Using social science communication to understand the things that make us human through sociological research. This includes interviews, lectures, news about psychology, sociology, neurology, philosophy, political science, gender studies, and more. Conflict, cooperation, education, learning are all under analysis.
Anyone that's been around abuse can attest that abusers deny it. An alternative would be to apologize, acknowledge, affirm and ask what was done and when that made someone feel abused. What could be done to not repeat that in the future, what kind of actions could be taken to recompense.
To be fair, these women have more muscle mass and athleticism than all of the pasty commenters
Straight (looking) white (looking) guys in suits are key allies. Even most liberal Americans are center right everywhere else. People trust vanilla. Get the allies in, then they yank the rest up the ladders.
Always have. In the next election cycle, it would be good to be aware of more foreign social engineering interference. Even here on imgur there was a wide swath of voters that fell for the "she would be bad for Gaza" disinformation that was pumped into Democrat spaces in 2024. Don't think you are immune to propaganda
There are some of the comedians that crisscross the lines between philosophers and comedians. Titus is getting there.
If the youth could become better citizens, then teachers could use more investment to make sure they are doing their duty. Maybe some people think that money is better spent fighting the imaginary lizard people
In browsing some of the carnivore/juice cleanse/ detox forums, lifelong diarrhea seems to be proof of "detox"
Epstein sold a child described as "9 years old, cute and sexy" and Trump's DOJ blacked out the name of the client making the purchase.
Thank you for sharing. The subjective perception of people to sort things that we see is phenomenology. Social phenomenology means some people define gay/straight individually. Guys wearing pink, dating guys, or only feminine people may be gay/straight depending who is asked. Rather than using the discrete labels, going in a broad open ended question like a short essay answer adds depth
That's terrible I'm sorry that happened to you. Bisexual does not mean attracted to every woman or man, and sometimes (many most of the times) someone's ick is their personality, not their gender
It would be wild to find someone that hasn't dealt with that. Bisexualism occupies a social space of overlapping into straight and LGBT community spaces, known as a borderlands identity. Both, and neither. Bisexuals face ostracization from both LGBT and heteronormative spaces.
Is that not in the slide with "aren't bi guys and gals just... Gay/straight?" I could divide them into invididual slides. Overwhelmingly, audiences (men, women, straight, LGBT) all tend to perceive bi men as being gay and partially closeted, and bi women to be straight and just experimenting.
Mentioned it to us. Love you, support you, proud of you, and thank you for sharing
Oddly, a great reminder for the LGBT community too
Great questions that should be reflected on our own individual answers, or lack of. Putting out feelers, I sometimes will ask "what does sexuality mean to you?" And answers including religious dogma, political rights, family values etc may be more red flags. Signalling to others, I'll usually begin speaking or sharing tidbits of sexuality, identity, last pride I went to -, etc. not saying any of these are prescriptatory, but what I do in my personal interactions.
Labels tell us more about the person with the label maker than what the label got slapped on. Labelling theory is a scientific principle that can be traced and observed
Part 2 of which cartoon characters are invited is also up in a separate post!
Mmhmm and piezo crystals are actually really cool. But when people sell you dirty rocks that have harmonic frequency, it's meaningless, which you well know. Thanks for illustrating
They always put a twist of lemon in their alkaline water too
Fixed thank you
As a sociologist, it's interesting to note the lack of black, LGBT, and women content for a user base that leans left. American left is still center-right
Can be both. Homegirl clearly owns both sets of clothes and wears both
Angela Basset! Michelle Yeoh! Lucy Liu!
I'm glad to imgur grew out of the teenage tantrum "tag your posts political" screeching. If anyone wants just to go through memes, sort through your old favorite folders
Doggie if this is your first day on imgur, there's no OC here. It's all reposts from other sites.
Everyones bisexual once in awhile!
Lot to unpack in therapy there buddy, but you're worth the investment. Sure, if you want to be treated as fairly as women would like be treated: it sounds like you're crying into your beer and whining about how every woman that dates you is terrible. The rest of the bar (and probably friends in your life) can see that the common denominator is you. Hopefully you heal some of that trauma so it doesn't spread to others. Cheers lad
The reason this is downvoted is the same reason imgur doesn't see this content very often. As a sociologist, I notice imgur tends to not feature very much black, LGBT, or women content (Tuesdays and Fridays excepted)
As a sociologist: imgur does not float gay, black, or women content to the top very often. Just noticing the trends. I share social science topics (original and reposts) on this page as well as other media sites, thanks for engaging!
Hell yes thank you! I'll add ithe link in the post
