As a motorcyclist, I have no idea. It's incredibly obvious out there that the car drivers are in their nice, safe cages, and you're not. That's part of the appeal of the thing. It doesn't feel safe.
Foam parties are a regular thing. There are bass bin designs that hide the driver, intended for outdoor use where they can get splashed, or even used in standing water.
How can something be a fluke and designed? Those words mean opposite things.

I think one liners, particularly in this delivery, has to be the hardest form. The must be funny. There's nothing else there. It's minimal. Some comedians can force a mediocre joke through with big personality (which is its own skill, to be sure).

I've had a set for a couple of years without issue. I wouldn't drop them on the floor, but no one who drops dumbbells at the gym really needs to be doing that.

The aggregators aren't dumb. They're not just taking a simple average of every poll thrown at them. They weight polls by a rating for the pollster, and pollsters with a known bias are unskewed by the amount of that bias.
