#5 Forgot to say, "Here, hold my beer." #9 Detail I missed the other time I saw this: the two kindly truckers that pull over across from the undeserving idiot.
Imagine the nightmare if u were to have this happen to you, but u were in a well insulated, sound proof garage, and were all alone. How long would it be before someone decided to check on you....? This kinda shit is nightmare fuel lol.
#10 this isn't a cheap repair. That chimney bent some trusses underneath. Not just the roof, tar paper and shingles. This damaged the roof structure. You can see it change shape at impact.
They would bitch about having to replace the relatively cheap shingles and wood underneath. (Not counting the trusses.) Which would be a few hundred dollars. Depending when and where this took place. Replacing the trusses and possibly studs, or parts of the double top plate. But at least 2, maybe 3 trusses need replaced guaranteed.
It’s pointed at a driveway, which is a pretty common place to point a camera as well as work if you don’t have shop space. And a lot of newer cameras, even outdoors, offer sound recording capabilities. I don’t know that the quality is worth the added feature, but it probably doesn’t add much cost. That’s not to definitively say it isn’t staged, but it seems like a plausible setup and not likely staged.
I’m not even convinced that he learned his lesson. He’ll probably do it again, only standing slightly further away. Even if he didn’t take shop class, physics could have enlightened him
I am amazed actually. It never occurred to me, not even once, there might be idiots out there PULLING stuff over a table saw towards them. Not because i thought of the potential risks, but because i have never seen anyone doing it.
Ah, but your dick is like a roux, where the current dick is based on the previous dick. So be glad your great great grandpappy didn't suffer this accident with the tools of the time!
Working with table saws I’m always conscious of kickback, falling forward onto the blade, fingers in the cutting path. This…this is a whole new hazard I’d never thought of.
You never pull the workpiece towards you, so it's not really something that could happen to most people. It's one of the easiest things to get injured on through incaution and inattention though and the shop machine most likely to injure expert users, though I guess this guy at least dodged the 'expert user' bit.
An ironic thing about wood working shops is the most injuries in raw numbers are things like chisels. People prepare mentally for potential errors with big machines and take precautions, and then think "eh what's a lil' ol' chisel going to do to me", then blam. Bye bye tendon and/or nerves.
Reminder that people regularly jump into frozen water for fun with no problems. You just need to be mentally prepared for what you're doing. The guy in that story probably was not.
If your whole body goes under and it's a deep body of water, your brain stem will light up like a Christmas tree due to the cold shock response. The first involuntary reflex is to take a deep gasp, which can cause you to start immediately drowning. Winter swimmers are trained to wade into very cold water for this exact reason, if we're talking about people who regularly do this for fun.
I nearly drowned in Australia because of this, we were out hiking and it was super hot like 40+, then we went down into this big ravine that had a body of water at the bottom, as soon as my body hit the water i pretty much locked up and started to sink like a stone. The only reason i lived was because someone else noticed and saved me. It was a really deep/narrow ravine that stays in the shade most of the day so i guess the water was still down close to the overnight desert temp 😨
As a motorcyclist, I have no idea. It's incredibly obvious out there that the car drivers are in their nice, safe cages, and you're not. That's part of the appeal of the thing. It doesn't feel safe.
There aren't that many old motorcyclists. It's 12 times deadlier than driving a car. I'm living close to some twisty roads with exceptionally poor visibility, lots of elevation changes and all sorts of crap on the road surface. Every weekend (or shortly before that, because they are banned from driving there on weekends, not that they care), a few of them die there.
That's very interesting, I've never heard of a public road that can specify no motorcycles, but allow cars, much less designate a time for the ban. There's bans for over a certain weight but afaik, at least here, motorcycles are allowed anywhere a car could otherwise go. Where is this at?
There are a couple of "racetracks" where motorcycles are only allowed 50km/h and cars 100. And police also enforces it. Also there are roads where motorcycles are not allowed, e.g. in front of hospitals (in the city). Mostly because of some assholes.
This may even be enough evidence to exonerate the person driving the car, but I’m inclined to say they’re both at fault here even though the biker instigated.
Few things in the clip make me wonder if maybe the guy on the motorcycle had been making it obvious he was trying to not just check him but stop him and attack him. Drivers actions make a lot more sense in the clip if that is the case.
Well maybe Thats cause you’re not paying enough attention to when the driver accelerates when the biker accelerates?
They were both driving aggressively and stupidly, just one of them was even more stupid.
If the driver actually slowed down enough he wouldn’t have been close enough to hit him. When someone is driving crazy, you wanna get as much distance as possible from them. Shit, maybe just move out of the passing lane at least
I'm not paying enough attention? you can see the ass of the bike lift up just before the hit.. he brake checked the car like a moron, because only a fucking moron with an death wish would brake check a 4 wheeled vehicle on two wheels..
again.. cutting someone off and then slowing down while right in front of them is not the definition of tailgating...

Tapping the cadence of the white dashed lines, seems the car driver was slowing down the whole time the bike was in front of him
yamsonyamsonyams
No, they slow down but you can see they speed back up
Part of why they appear to slow down is because they move to the left of the lane, changing the vantage point of the lines
When they go back to the right you can see the lines are moving faster again
wadatahmydamie
That was certainly insufficient, unless of course someone is on their ass too.
